Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens said Friday he will retire this year,
giving President Obama another opportunity to shape the nation's highest court.
President Obama has another opportunity to appoint a justice to the supreme court now that Justice Stevens is retiring. President Obama appointed Sonia Sotomayor who was the first Latina ever to be a justice. These justice choices are important because the Supreme Court decides some of the most controversial cases in the United States.
