A work in progress of every museum in the United States that offers free admission. If able, we've linked directly to the museum's website where the free admission policy is stated as well as noted where the museum is located; broken down by states, then cities. Also, you'll find a few commonly used acronyms throughout the list, but they're not too hard to understand!

THE WORLD QUESTION CENTER 2009- Page 1 - 1 views

  • Today, most people only recognize that they are using the Internet when they are interacting with a computer screen. They are less likely to appreciate when they are using the Internet while talking on the telephone, watching television, or flying on an airplane.

How has the Internet changed the way we think, these commenters were asked. An interesting collection of comments... one noting: "Today, most people only recognize that they are using the Internet when they are interacting with a computer screen. They are less likely to appreciate when they are using the Internet while talking on the telephone, watching television, or flying on an airplane."

"Beyond simple math and grouping (like "(x+2)(x-4)"), there are some functions you can use as well. Look below to see them all. They are mostly standard functions written as you might expect. You can also use "pi" and "e" as their respective constants. Please note: You should not use fractional exponents. For example, don't type "x^(1/3)" to compute the cube root of x. Instead, use "root(x,3)". When you want a quick graph of a function, you can just go to http://graphsketch.com/[function], like http://graphsketch.com/sin(x). You can even separate multiple equations with commas, like http://graphsketch.com/sin(x),x^2."

Copy / Paste by Peter Pappas: The Reflective Principal: A Taxonomy of Reflection (Part IV) - 4 views

  •
The Reflective Principal: A Taxonomy of Reflection (Part IV) Reflection can be a challenging endeavor. It's not something that's fostered in school - typically someone else tells you how you're doing! Principals (and instructional leaders) are often so caught up in the meeting the demands of the day, that they rarely have the luxury to muse on how things went. Self-assessment is clouded by the need to meet competing demands from multiple stakeholders. In an effort to help schools become more reflective learning environments, I've developed this "Taxonomy of Reflection" - modeled on Bloom's approach. It's posted in four installments: 1. A Taxonomy of Reflection 2. The Reflective Student 3. The Reflective Teacher 4. The Reflective Principal It's very much a work in progress, and I invite your comments and suggestions. I'm especially interested in whether you think the parallel construction to Bloom holds up through each of the three examples - student, teacher, and principal. I think we have something to learn from each perspective. 4. The Reflective Principal Each level of reflection is structured to parallel Bloom's taxonomy. (See installment 1 for more on the model) Assume that a principal (or instructional leader) looked back on an initiative (or program, decision, project, etc) they have just implemented. What sample questions might they ask themselves as they move from lower to higher order reflection? (Note: I'm not suggesting that all questions are asked after every initiative - feel free to pick a few that work for you.) Bloom's Remembering : What did I do? Principal Reflection: What role did I play in implementing this program? What role did others play? What steps did I take? Is the program now operational and being implemented? Was it completed on time? Are assessment measures in place? Bloom's Understanding: What was

The Mnemonicizer (The Mnemonic Device Device) - 7 views

  •
Welcome to the Mnemonicizer, the Mnemonic Device Device. A mnemonic device is a sentence that helps us to memorize a string of words. For example, music students use "Every Good Boy Does Fine" to remember the order of notes on the treble clef. (E, G, B, D, F). Math students use "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally" to remember the order of arithmetic operations (Parentheses, Exponent, Multiply, Divide, Add, Subtract.). But the range of usefulness extends beyond music and math. They are an invaluable resource whenever you are trying to remember something.

How Much Funds Can I Borrow Once I Have Paid Off My Loan? - 0 views

  •
Your trust rating is an important factor that plays an important role as how much money you should get as loan. Lenders take note a number of factors before giving you the loan. You get small funds if you are unable to provide any collateral for the loan. Borrowers who are capable of placing a security against the loan get a large sum of the loan. The lenders also look into your actual cash needs before loan approval in a bid to cover the risk.
