Welcome, Choo! I do find it slower too, but the connection is more reliable. You can try reducing the colour depth / increase compression / decrease the screen resolution. :)

    Something this app has over air display : Seems you can have a virtual keyboard for typing texts and also play audio and stream video which the air display cannot do from my understanding from Tamas

    Give spashtop 2 and touchpad a try... I found them fast and useful. Especially touchpad... allows me to control my mac/win with my iphone.
