What is Nodal? Nodal is generative software for composing music, interactive real-time improvisation, and a musical tool for experimentation and fun. Nodal uses a new method for creating and exploring musical patterns, probably unlike anything you've used before. You can play sounds using Nodal's built-in synthesiser or any MIDI compatible hardware or software instrument. Nodal is based around the concept of a user-defined network. The network consists of nodes (musical events) and edges (connections between events). You interactively define the network, which is then automatically traversed by any number of virtual players. Players play their instruments according to the notes specified in each node. The time taken to travel from one node to another is based on the length of the edges that connect the nodes. Nodal allows you to create complex, changing sequences using just a few simple elements. Políssonos is a loop-based midi sequencer that elicits the relation between the rhythmical division of time and the shapes of polygons. It was developed for the «Music & Mathematics» month, in October 2007, at Casa da Música. A simple midi sequencer at its core, Políssonos is mainly a proposal for a loop orientated alternative to the traditional "piano roll" interface. Políssonos was awarded with an honorable mention at Lomus 2008 - International Music Software Contest.

MIDI YOKE is a MIDI Patch Cable driver. It is a Windows (Versions 3.1x, 95, 98 and ME) multimedia driver. Also available is a driver for Windows NT and 2000 (unfortunately not as robust). MIDI Yoke NT: This driver works in Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It is completely different code from the Windows 9x MIDI Yoke driver. It is hard coded to 8 ports and can't be changed. It is not as robust as the Windows 9x driver, is still Beta code and will not be supported -- use at your own risk. MIDI YOKE is used to connect any Windows MIDI Application outputs to any other Applications inputs. The MIDI data stream is passed directly from output to input -- Example: [ Sequencer Out ]==>[ Out MIDI Yoke In ]==>[ In MIDI-OX 32 ] Another: [MIDI Keyboard In]==>[In MIDI-OX Out]==>[Out MIDI Yoke In]==>[In Sequencer] This allows you to connect the MIDI output from one program to the MIDI input of a different program. Qtractor is an Audio/MIDI multi-track sequencer application written in C++ with the Qt4 framework. Target platform is Linux, where the Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK) for audio, and the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) for MIDI, are the main infrastructures to evolve as a fairly-featured Linux desktop audio workstation GUI, specially dedicated to the personal home-studio. "An evolution of an old software called «Digital Jam», GameLan is a software made for networked improvisation based on Gamelan music. Upon launching the application, it searches for any users currently improvising and automatically joins them. It can also be used individually, but only if there aren't any other improvisers on the same network! Each user controls the sequencing of several Gamelan instruments and a soloist located in the middle circle. This software can also be used to control the Robotic Gamelan.
