Soundation Studio is the free online music making application that gives everyone the opportunity to make music on the internet. SPEAR is an application for audio analysis, editing and synthesis. The analysis procedure (which is based on the traditional McAulay-Quatieri technique) attempts to represent a sound with many individual sinusoidal tracks (partials), each corresponding to a single sinusoidal wave with time varying frequency and amplitude. Something which closely resembles the original input sound (a resynthesis) can be generated by computing and adding all of the individual time varying sinusoidal waves together. In almost all cases the resynthesis will not be exactly identical to the original sound (although it is possible to get very close). Aside from offering a very detailed analysis of the time varying frequency content of a sound, a sinusoidal model offers a great deal of flexibility for editing and manipulation. SPEAR supports flexible selection and immediate manipulation of analysis data, cut and paste, and unlimited undo/redo. Hundreds of simultaneous partials can be synthesized in real-time and documents may contain thousands of individual partials dispersed in time. MIDI YOKE is a MIDI Patch Cable driver. It is a Windows (Versions 3.1x, 95, 98 and ME) multimedia driver. Also available is a driver for Windows NT and 2000 (unfortunately not as robust). MIDI Yoke NT: This driver works in Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It is completely different code from the Windows 9x MIDI Yoke driver. It is hard coded to 8 ports and can't be changed. It is not as robust as the Windows 9x driver, is still Beta code and will not be supported -- use at your own risk. MIDI YOKE is used to connect any Windows MIDI Application outputs to any other Applications inputs. midimon is a free command line MIDI monitor for OS X. You can monitor any MIDI device connected to your Mac, or another application's MIDI output by using midimon's virtual mode. midimon should work with any Mac running OS 10.4 or later. farmpad is a free application for OS X which lets you customize how you use your Korg padKontrol MIDI controller. You can use pads as toggles that light up when switched on, the setting buttons can be used as extra switches and triggers, and the settings dial can be used as a rotary encoder.
