For newer users of Google+ (G+), it may help to skim through Section 1 on "Getting Started" and pick several items from "Overview". The remainder of these pages can be referred to as needed after you become more comfortable and familiar with Google+.

A collection of free education resources With the announcement that Open University course fees are about to increase massively, I've been gradually collecting alternatives using the excellent Evernote on-line tool. Every time I saw a link to a free course or other educational resource, I "evernoted it" (I believe "to evernote" is a verb now).

Naked Lecturer? I had a look, of course. There were no pictures. Bummer. A while ago, I checked out "The Naked Scientists" podcast and found they all wore white lab coats, just like the rest of them. Life is full of disappointments. I see that "The Naked Lecturer" worked in both the "Further" and "Higher" Education sectors. I'm trying to imagine how to picture that . . . An x-y chart? Perhaps a hot air balloon and a jet plane? Would You Rather: Ride in a hot air balloon or travel in a jet plane? In any case, the resources are very useful, and they are presented in a usable way. Especially the little post-it Notes. Oh, I get it. Use them to cover up the interesting bits. Very cleaver. That's not higher or further, that's just better.

As I slog through APA formatting, I found their guidance on how to source wkis very interesting: "Please note that the APA Style Guide to Electronic References warns writers that wikis (like Wikipedia, for example) are collaborative projects that cannot guarantee the verifiability or expertise of their entries." - It sounds like Purdue doesn't overly value connected knowledge!

Thanks for sharing Joanne - I have used the purdue owl quite a few times over the years but have never had to reference a wiki. Our of interest I think I'll take a look at the APA style guide tomorrow and see if they are similarly sceptical...
