Kindig-It Design releases one impressive pony from the stables in this two-part feature that will blow you away! Chiseling out a precision-built muscle car with all the raw performance and one-off style required to keep up with today's standards is no small feat. To hang with the big boys you have got to bring the heat and pack the skills to take something from a pile of rust to art on a turntable. The cars that get your blood boiling with one look are certainly cool, but we have more respect for the rides that can hold their own with the car show judge and do battle on the asphalt.
There's been a little combining of business with pleasure going on lately at No Limit Engineering in San Bernardino, California. Recently, Rob MacGregor, owner and founder of No Limit, and his adorable girlfriend Tina were married. (Congratulations, you two!) So what does an engineer get his new wife for a wedding present? He builds her a muscle car, of course!
In today's auto market, customers are getting more and more focused on getting a reliable vehicle. It would seem that the days of getting a new car every three to five years are gone (at least for the majority of the population), so quality studies and surveys about different vehicles are proving to be crucial in buyers' decisions. And that's good news for Ford because a recent study by J.D. Power and Associates marks the current lineup of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles as one of the best ever.
Growing up around cars ensures that a passion for automotive iron will stick around even in later years. Andy Houghtelin has always had the gearhead gene and started off young with a '68 Ford Mustang California Special. As his career and family took priority, he took a break, but thankfully, his wife Mary also came from an active automotive family.
It was wet and wild at the start and the finish, but the eighth annual Targa Newfoundland lived up to expectations of excitement for competitors and spectators alike as it made its way up the East Coast of the island Sept. 12-18. The eventual winners toiled away behind a couple of heavy-hitting leaders through the week, but once the boots had dried Friday Roy Hopkins and Adrienne Hughes moved up to their third overall win in a row.
It will take a few more years of testing and the requisite safety approvals before Ford's laser ignition system is put into a production model, but the company has indicated that they hope to have the system in some of their premium vehicles (they'll probably start on a Lincoln model) within a few years.
