Do laptop screens inhibit discussion and interaction??? Does it make a difference having something flat on the desk?
  • but decided against issuing laptops to every student. Mr. Reisinger felt the screens worked against a “good and healthy discussion,” and the time to boot up would take away from class time.

  • Students cannot, for instance, download movies or visit social networking sites. School tools can also help: A wireless tracking signal once let staff find a “missing” laptop that was simply buried in the student’s own backpack, said seventh-grade Latin teacher Aaron L. Fuller.

to quote borat -- i like!

(btw - maybe that should be one of our projects for next year when we apply for collaboration/inquiry time!)

you wouldn't even need to set up a separate account... just create a new g-calendar and share/make settings for it as a public one (keep the settings on your personal one private).

(i created a calendar for our group and it shows up on my list of calendars as a different color. i think all of you are shared on it? but you can't see my own personal calendar.)

to take that idea further, i mentioned the need for an agenda app to jim... get rid of our paper agendas and make an app for all that info. make it cheaper, to help pay for initial software development.

students with dumb-phones can still buy a paper agenda.

provide instructions on how to set-up a widget to a google school calendar.

maybe create a staff handbook app while we're at it.
