Waves and Wave Motion - 0 views

  •
Waves of one form or another can be found in an amazingly diverse range of physical applications, from the oceans to the science of sound. Put simply, a wave is a traveling disturbance. Ocean waves travel for thousands of kilometers through the water. Earthquake waves travel through the Earth, sometimes bouncing off the core of the Earth and making it all the way back to the surface. Sound waves travel through the air to our ears, where we process the disturbances and interpret them.

Medicine on the Move - Let the Drops begin!! - 0 views

  •
"We're often asked why we wish to use small aircraft for these runs. The ground team, traveling by road, will spend around 3 hours getting to first drop site. By comparison total flight time for this initial run to all 20 communities will take just over one hour in our Rotax powered CH701. Attempting this trip would require more than a week difficult travel by road, and would still not reach all 20 communities. These first drops are more about first contact and relationship building. Future drops will contain more community specific health education materials and training invitations."

Medicine on the Move (MoM) - 0 views

  •
"Medicine on the Move (MoM) improves lives of West Africans through community-based healthcare education - In West Africa, many communities are remote and can be difficult to access. Villagers may have to travel long distances to reach professional clinics. In the absence of trained health professionals, many utilize traditional remedies -- not all of which are reliable and some of which may result in further complications or infections. Consequently, many preventable morbidities and mortalities occur on a regular basis. MoM's mission is to empower villagers to improve the health of their community members through extensive healthcare training, provision of healthcare-related material, and development of a support structure between remote villages.
