The Lodge was honored with a service award celebrating their 10 year partnership with USL. The Lodge has provided space in their building for volunteers to repair damaged cassette players. Thousands of cassette players have been repaired saving the State Library the cost of replacing the machines. "The State Library couldn't do what we do without volunteers," says State Librarian Donna Jones Morris. "Last year volunteers donated 1,245 hours repairing cassette players for the blind. It's estimated that the value of each hour of service is nearly $19 which totals more than $23,000 yearly."
