I have to agree that gambling is not the best way to raise funds. However, our own lodge offers bingo and that is certainly gambling though legal.

sometimes I wonder why a Lodge has any gambling.legal or illegal. Seems to take away from the altruistic meaning of a fraternal organization

An East Hanover resident pleaded guilty today to stealing from an Elks Lodge and has agreed to cooperate with the state in its prosecution of former Morris County Tax Commissioner Anthony Crecco on the same theft charges.
