Napa Elks Lodge No. 832 hosted dinner for 16 high school scholarship recipients and their families. Scholarships awarded totaled $16,000. Students receiving new scholarships were graduating seniors Conor Fitzpatrick, Aaron Reich, Taylor Smith, Rylee McGill, Paige Tsai, Marco Delaroche, Spencer May, Alexandra Pearson, Craig Cybulski, Zachary Potter, Laura White, Zachary Wagner, Tayler Tildley, Angelica Mewhorter, Sierra Smith and Melissa Smith. Alex Mantor was awarded a total of $4,400 as winner of the Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student and District 2 scholarships. Each student spoke of their academic achievements and the college they would be attending.

Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge #2815 has presented scholarships to eight Northwest students. Five students earned Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Contest scholarships. Justin Haley, who attends Ironwood Ridge High School, received a $4,000 scholarship and is competing as a national finalist. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy students Victoria Johnston, Jordan Thompson and Morgan Van Stelle each received $1,000 awards for use at the college of their choice, as did Russell Smith from Canyon del Oro High School. All students were selected based upon their academic achievements and leadership skills as well as their participation in community affairs, a release said.

HUDSON - Hudson Lodge of Elks has awarded a total of $1 million in scholarships in the past eight years, it was announced at the eighth annual Hudson Elks Awards banquet Wednesday, May 20 at Elks Hall, Park Street, Hudson. The Elks presented $60,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from area high schools that evening.

When it comes to community events, it's hard to imagine Elks Lodge No. 2127 or Emblem Club No. 350 not being involved. Activities for scholarship dollars, literacy in the schools, helping students finance out-of-state travel, wounded veterans, fundraisers for community members whose homes have been destroyed or are facing serious medical challenges or any of a number of issues Elks and the Emblem Club are there. Saturday, they're at it again with the annual July Fourth scholarship barbecue. Admission is $15 at the door or free with a $100 raffle ticket. In addition to food and games for the kids, a raffle drawing begins at 1 p.m. with more than $16,000 in cash prizes.

The Somerville Elks Lodge Scholarship Committee supports the students of local high schools by providing financial scholarships to outstanding kids, based on their academic achievements and moral character. Like the Moose and the Masons, the Elks are a social group that finds ways to serve others. According to club president Bobbi Galbraith, the Elks are second only to the federal government in the amount of scholarship money it gives to students. The Elks also support programs that help the families of children with disabilities and provide eyesight screening tests in schools to detect problems and get the children the help they need early on.

The Dover Elks Lodge will be hosting a series of special events to honor the youth of our community. The Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks (B.P.O.E.) is a national organization committed to recognizing the accomplishments of our young people. This year the Lodge will be awarding over $16,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors in the area.

That's quite an accomplishment this Lodge has been accomplishing for 55 years with this gridiron committee. Great program too that acknowledges sports celebrities. A tip of the Antlers!
