Recently, there was yet another controversy about the time of Jesus' return. Sadly, many people were misled into thinking that May 21, 2011 would be that date and were deeply disappointed and confused when they found out they were misinformed. It is easy, and quite tempting, to be dismissive of these forlorn followers, but empathy and reflection are far better responses.

What you have here is a basic outline of the nine eras of Old Testament Biblical history, a brief description of the Intertestamental period, and the two eras of New Testament history. Each era includes estimated dates and a list of Biblical books which provide accounts of that period.

I was never going to get married. No amount of wanting it on my end would make it happen, no amount of trying could undo this truth. I was simply not ever going to get married.
