I am nominating TAKE CARE, GOOD KNIGHT by Shelley Moore Thomas for the Gabriel Award for excellence in children's literature about dragons and castles. In the story, three dragons are enlisted by their good friend, the Wizard, to watch his cats while he is away. The dragons are happy to oblige; however, they do not know how to read and consequently cannot follow the wizard's instructions. The Good Knight comes to their rescue.

    > The Gabriel Award for excellence in children's literature about dragons and castles will be awarded to a children's book that uses both story and illustration to re-invent the "traditional" medieval tale in a fresh and exciting way and to challenge the assumptions perpetuated by "traditional" literature about race, class, gender, or physical ability. Please submit nominations by __________.
