    The Emma Diehl Award for celebrating strong family values in an African American children picture book. This award will go to a children's book that shows strong family values while going through a problem or issue. Wolf says that "these are values that have carried African American families from the Middle Passage through slavery and reconstruction into the twentieth century and now on the threshold of a new century." The book needs to be a picture book for first to third grade. Nominations are due by February 19, 2007.
