The Pope made personal pleas to Obama and Cuban leaders in private letters, writing that the two nations should try to reset their relations after decades of friction.
It will be interesting to see if this is actually going to happen!
The Pope will be visiting the United States in September. Many schools are sharing photographs of themselves with Flat Francis. This is the website with the printable. Take a look at the #FlatFrancis hashtag on Twitter.
This is a great website for nutrition and healthy living and eating. Pre-K 3 loves the game "Smash Your Food"! We use this to talk about healthy foods vs. "sometimes foods" and why. There are some really great games and activities that allow kids to plan out healthy meals in a fun way (like "Blast Off"). The printable materials are excellent, too ("10 Tips"). :-)
This is a Google sheet with two tabs. The RCAN tab is the Diigo id for local technology integration specialists. Column E has an x if the individual has more than 10 public links. The Outside RCAN tab is for people I follow in DIigo around the world. You may want to add them to your network.
One of the things that I love about creating worksheets on this site is that no two are the same. When students have the ability to open a worksheet online, they will often search for the answers. Since this cannot be duplicated, they cannot go home with a homework page that they can instantly find the answers.
Did this with my fifth grade, except we used craft sticks. I wanted to share where I found the original idea! The story, "The Goat in the Rug" is very good, too!
