I liked this approach. It is a pedagogical approach to analyzing complex texts with a technology layer.

Thought it was helpful and interesting

This is a great channel on Youtube for teachers to use. The groups that create these videos take popular songs and rewrite them in order to teach students about different time periods or events in world history. This can be used as a great intro or ending video clip, or as a brain break. Beware- some songs are very catchy and can get stuck in you head. =)

For many current middle and high school students, writing takes shape in all kinds of forms. They send texts, write on social media sites, update their own blogs, and of course, write for school assignments. This article also points out that it's not all positive though.

They have educator accounts specifically geared towards getting K-12 teachers to use their service, so they have lots of educators who view and share their bookmarks.

Although I open Twitter in the classroom once in a while using my appletv, I am learning there are so many more ways to utilize this tool. In any case, twitter has replaced my newspaper and many other sources of reading about the news and what is going on in the world.
