A good article. Sometimes, it's a struggle to know what to do about a situation that occurred when you weren't around. This article gives a proactive approach.

For the past several years, I've used Teacher Appreciation Week to pay tribute to this wonderful community of teachers, to colleagues, to the teachers who have made those indelible marks on me, and even to my own mother. Yet, this year, there are three young people who have lived teacher appreciation, but may not really understand what it means.

This describes some of the characteristics that make great teachers, like passion, understanding, and a sense of humor.

Teachers play such an influential and important role in the life a child. The last thing a teacher wants, but so often gets, is a rude child. Teachers will usually try to address the behavior themselves, but they need the support of those at home to help create a lasting change.

This is a great channel on Youtube for teachers to use. The groups that create these videos take popular songs and rewrite them in order to teach students about different time periods or events in world history. This can be used as a great intro or ending video clip, or as a brain break. Beware- some songs are very catchy and can get stuck in you head. =)

Inclusion of all children with disabilities in regular classrooms seems to be the law of the land. But is it the right thing for all kids? And how are teachers handling it?

Before students will care how much a teacher knows, they must know how much a teacher cares! What we say to students may influence them forever. Make sure to give them positive words and things to think about!

Scholastic has a summer reading program which would reward both students and teachers.
