12 Reasons Teachers should use Diigo - 0 views

    Nice blog post with screenshots

I especially like the last one, enjoy time saved;) On the more serious side, I really like their comparison to Blooms. It is great for students to go through the evaluation process with online sources and for the teacher to help them along the way. I also like the professional network. My husband is working on a masters in admin. and loves the idea of PLCs. This would really help teachers continue to work on an issue together outside of meetings. Professional development is sometimes a waste of time because it is done only once instead of a continual series.

  • B) Teachers: upgrade your own account to Diigo Educator account

Are we able to get accounts if we teach outside of the US?  I just tried to upgrade and it said that I had to check my email account.
  •
What will the upgrade do? I see it at the top of my toolbar. As a Chrome user, is similar things by Diigo available in the Chrome Store? I'll keep searching.
  •
I would love to know if there are similar things available. I love this idea of sharing resources and being able to easily access it. Here is a site where I found some benefits of a teacher account. http://help.diigo.com/teacher-account/faq *you can input an entire class at a time *the class is automatically put into a group *the student privacy settings are pre-set so that it is strictly student/teacher student/student interactions

This is a very comprehensive resource, however the publish date is 2008. Diigo has been around a while, and its basic features have not changed, but it has gotten quite a bit better over the years.

Very new to Diigo, but what a great source it could be for sharing ideas. It's almost like a Google Reader/RSS feed created by a faculty, and if everyone buys into it, I can see this being a great tool. This seems like a great starting point to introduce it, even if it's old, I think it gives them a good idea.
