FreeIPA - 0 views

  •
"FreeIPA is an integrated security information management solution combining Linux (Fedora), 389 Directory Server, MIT Kerberos, NTP, DNS, Dogtag (Certificate System). It consists of a web interface and command-line administration tools. FreeIPA is an integrated Identity and Authentication solution for Linux/UNIX networked environments. A FreeIPA server provides centralized authentication, authorization and account information by storing data about user, groups, hosts and other objects necessary to manage the security aspects of a network of computers. FreeIPA is built on top of well known Open Source components and standard protocols with a very strong focus on ease of management and automation of installation and configuration tasks. Multiple FreeIPA servers can easily be configured in a FreeIPA Domain in order to provide redundancy and scalability. The 389 Directory Server is the main data store and provides a full multi-master LDAPv3 directory infrastructure. Single-Sign-on authentication is provided via the MIT Kerberos KDC. Authentication capabilities are augmented by an integrated Certificate Authority based on the Dogtag project. Optionally Domain Names can be managed using the integrated ISC Bind server. Security aspects related to access control, delegation of administration tasks and other network administration tasks can be fully centralized and managed via the Web UI or the ipa Command Line tool."

"To demonstrate this idea, we'll create a wrapper component around Leaflet, an open source mapping JavaScript library created by Vladimir Agafonkin of Universal Mind. We'll use that wrapper component in an app that shows us a map and provides a button to move the map to a specified location."

"Scalding is a Scala library that makes it easy to specify Hadoop MapReduce jobs. Scalding is built on top of Cascading, a Java library that abstracts away low-level Hadoop details. Scalding is comparable to Pig, but offers tight integration with Scala, bringing advantages of Scala to your MapReduce jobs."

"Model your domain in the language and style of Domain Driven Design. Implement it using Scala case classes and companion objects. Pass us your subdomain, and we provide the persistence. Persistence concerns, operations and data are abstracted behind an elegant persistence API. We provide you with fully featured repositories for MongoDB and Cassandra. We provide a suite of integration tests to exercise your repositories against a real database, as well as in-memory repositories for other tests."

Effectively Using Git With Subversion | Viget - 0 views

  •
"The integration between git and Subversion (git-svn) is so well done that several of us have been using git as our interface to all our Subversion repositories. Doing this is fairly simple, but there are some interesting tricks, and so I thought I would share a day in the Viget life with git-svn."

"HPaste unlocks the rich functionality of HBase for a Scala audience. In so doing, it attempts to achieve the following goals: Provide a strong, clear syntax for querying and filtration Perform as fast as possible while maintaining idiomatic Scala client code -- the abstractions should not show up in a profiler! Re-articulate HBase's data structures rather than force it into an ORM-style atmosphere. A rich set of base classes for writing MapReduce jobs in hadoop against HBase tables. Provide a maximum amount of code re-use between general Hbase client usage, and operation from within a MapReduce job. Use Scala's type system to its advantage--the compiler should verify the integrity of the schema. Be a verbose DSL--minimize boilerplate code, but be human readable!"

AWS | Amazon EC2 Container Service | Container Management - 0 views

  •
"Amazon EC2 Container Service (ECS) is a highly scalable, high performance container management service that supports Docker containers and allows you to easily run applications on a managed cluster of Amazon EC2 instances. Amazon ECS eliminates the need for you to install, operate, and scale your own cluster management infrastructure. With simple API calls, you can launch and stop container-enabled applications, query the complete state of your cluster, and access many familiar features like security groups, Elastic Load Balancing, EBS volumes, and IAM roles. You can use Amazon ECS to schedule the placement of containers across your cluster based on your resource needs and availability requirements. You can also integrate your own scheduler or third-party schedulers to meet business or application specific requirements."

MonoHelper extension - 0 views

  •
MonoHelper offers XBuild integration into Visual Studio, so you can use Mono within Visual Studio (Build & Run). When using XBuild or XRebuild command, MonoHelper detects current installed Mono Runtime or use preconfigured installation path, call XBuild with current configuration settings and outputs the results into the Output Console. It also generates pdb symbol files, so you can debug XBuild compiled programs with Visual Studio (running with .NET Runtime - see Stackoverflow about how this is done). If you want to run your program with installed Mono runtime, this is also possible.
