However, the only limitation of such 3D BIM models is that they are prepared basis the amount of information and input fed in the BIM model by the architectural design support team.

5D BIM (Building Information Modeling) however, is turning out to be critical in closing this gap. 5D BIM involves extraction of construction information from intelligent BIM ready virtual building models.

BIM has a distinctive ability to identify clashes, interventions and omissions before the construction work starts. BIM software like Navisworks simulates clash detection to allow assessment of risks, and plan mitigation strategies during the development process.
