Given to me by our Spanish teacher. I show this to all my classes! Helps build empathy, which seems lacking today. Great discussions. Helps students think beyond their small part of the world.

Part 3. The ending is disturbing to my students, they realize how we can never clean up this mess... we must stop using the plastic. They all start bring stainless water containers to class from this point. No more plastic water bottles in class!!

Caution!! Foul language alert!! I really like the science in this video.. This ship captain has been visiting this part of the ocean for 30 plus years, so, I like the visuals and his input. The scientist on board is also very good. However, I get release forms signed by parents before showing these videos because the language is offensive to me. My students say it's not a big deal. I still mute the really foul parts :) An eye opener about plastic!

Part 2. I recently found this site with the same video. Great for Air and Water Pollution.

Vice videos can have some foul language. I use this when teaching Air and Water Pollution. This video is somewhat benign in the language department. Video also can be used to discuss developing countries and recycling of minerals.

Love this site, especially the pictures. I like to show the kids the pictures to start discussions- name the animal, where does it live, do we have these here in WV? endangered? etc. Good for discussion about our impact on animals around the world.

I use this with Earth Science and Nonrenewables. I really like the breakdown of minerals used in building. Lots of great data for usage around the world.
