teachers need guns to protect them selfs and students from any dangrous people.
  •
Its a terrifying to think about what may run through some people's heads.
  •
what has our society came to? what would a person have to do to deserve that? no one does. it's sad.
  •
Re: Spencer. I'm not sure having teachers carrying guns would make students FEEL safer, nor am I convinced that having teachers with guns would actually reduce school violence. I do believe that having a on site police officer or dedicated security person is a good idea.
  •
i just know when i was 12 and 14 i didn't think about killing my teacher...

Times have changed now, when i was 14 i didn't go around thinking about killing people.

I don't know how well everyone having a computer will work, and how well students will take care of it.
  •
Connor makes a good point. I think we will have to establish a school culture that bringing your laptop to class is as important as having your cell phone with you. Also, here is another article about our Google day. http://goo.gl/9GvQi
  •
In high school I'm not sure how important it is for students to have their own laptops. English and history and the 2 mandatory classes that computers work well in. Science and math don't always work well, electives can use them, but not all of them. We really don't know how well this will work until next year. College on the other hand for seniors this year will require laptops, and chromebooks I don't think will work well for college. IM just going to stick with my Mac, does everything this machine does and more.

South Carolina Officer Is Charged With Murder of Walter Scott - 6 views

  •
I just don't understand why deadly force such as a gun was used against man who was unarmed, not verified as dangerous and stopped for a traffic violation. I know police are trained with other tactics to stop an unarmed person from fleeing. Fears for his life? I didn't know someone running from you was so scary.
  •
I agree that this officer should be charged with murder. Its shocking because police officers never get punished for things they do are are unjustified. Weather the man took his taser or not, it didn't have to go to extent of being shot and being killed. But from the reading, it says that the taser fell to the ground and to police officer still fires at him 8 times. I completely agree with what happened, it's not usual that police get in trouble for some of the things they do.

Police: Minnesota teen planned school massacre - 10 views

  •
(CNN) -- A teenage boy had a plan. According to authorities in Waseca, Minnesota, John David LaDue, 17, was going to kill his family, start a diversionary fire, set off bombs at an area school, kill the resource officer there and then shoot students.
  •
Oh my God, if the police hadn't been tipped off there may have possibly been the biggest massacre in school history! This boy had a big plan, and I'm really glad it wasn't executed.
  •
Why do people do this? It said he was close to his sister, why kill her?. It's strange that he to idolizes a previous school shooter.

"Congress poised to end where it started" - 0 views

  •
Washington (CNN) -- This Congress is going out just the way it began: in complete disarray. Fourteen months after tea party conservatives ignored Republican leaders and forced a two-week government shutdown, another one came close to happening -- this time because liberals were blowing off President Barack Obama's pleas to support a government funding measure.

Senate panel releases scathing report on CIA interrogations amid security warnings - 4 views

Cat saves kid from a dog! - 7 views

This dog just randomly attacks this kid and a cat saves him wow that cat is brave.

This changes my view on cats a bit. As much as I like cats, I didn't think they would defend for someone like that. It's pretty cool.
  •
I saw the video on the news the other day and I thought It was cool that the cat had saved the kid form getting hurt even more, the dog attacking the little kid out of nowhere wasn't really cool though. Its a crazy story.
  •
This is pretty crazy considering cats are usually scared of dogs. I'm just curious as to why that dog would just randomly attack a little boy. The owners need to do something about that.
  •
This is crazy! I didn't even know that the dog got the little boy! I didn't think cats even did that. But, thank gosh it was not as bad as it couldnt have been. If that cat wasnt there then who knows what could of happened to that little boy.
  •
I heard that the dog is going to be put down because of this. But I am kind of wondering if the boy did things to the dog before, like throw rocks at it or other things. But that cat was pretty loyal and brave for saving that boy, and probably pretty fearsome too. That dog just ran like it just heard a gun!
  •
it was so cool how the cat saved the kid but i think the owner should get in to truble.
  •
Exactly why cats are better than dogs! Imagine if the cat wasn't there, the kid possibly could have died!
  •
That is pretty brave of a cat to do that but dogs will always be better!
  •
So amazing like to watch the video.

Sony material stolen by hackers. What does this have to do with "The Interview"? - 7 views

On June 25, North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency condemned the film (without naming it), promising "stern" and "merciless" retaliation if the film is released. "Making and releasing a film that portrays an attack on our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Interview_%282014_film%29
  •
I think Sony should release the movie anyway. Korea already has the information so what's done is done. Sony spent a lot of money to make the movie so if they just throw away all of the time and money, it would be even more of a loss.
  •
I don't understand why it would be a big deal anyway its not like any of their citizens can see the movie only the Korean leader could because of the communism he is running in the country. If it as taken as a form of threat then so be it it was never intended as that.
  •
I dont think Sony should be scared. North Korea might release all of there information and financials but the movie isnt really that big of a deal. They should go ahead and release it.

Poll: Hillary Clinton still tops in 2016 - CNN.com - 3 views

shared by jborwick on 18 Mar 15 - No Cached
  •
Hillary Clinton continues to be a dominant force heading into the 2016 presidential election, according to a new CNN/ORC poll. The former secretary of state maintains a broad lead over the field of potential Democratic challengers she could face in a nomination contest and sizable advantages over the leading contenders from the Republican side in general election match-ups.
  •
I would think what is going on in the media right now can hurt her in the Presidential run because people might think different of her so 2016 could get a little interesting.
  •
Honestly, in my opinion, and take it as you will, i think that people are just choosing Hillary so we can say we got the first female president. They don't care about anything she stands for. Just like with Obama, i asked many people before he was elected, and a majority said, well it'll be a thing "get the first african american president in, the next one we will get in for the right reasons. but lets get the first one in there." so i feel its the same with Hillary, everyone wants to get the first female in. 'then they'll vote the right one in for the right reasons'

Shocked Jordanians rally behind king, against ISIS after video of pilot's killing - 9 views

  •
The shocking images of a Jordanian Air Force pilot being burned alive in an outdoor cage by ISIS terrorists have galvanized the country, once seen as possible fertile recruitment ground for the group, behind King Abdullah II's calls for a stepped-up military campaign.
  •
I think that Jordan is doing the right thing because what ISIS did was very inhumane and they deserve to be fought back. They can't just go around burning people alive just to give a message.
  •
ISIS burning a pilot and video taping it is very inhumane and they deserve to be punished for their actions. Jordan is doing the right and uniting as a country to avenge one of their own. Jordanians standing behind their King and their military is good for their country and good for taking down ISIS.

In the Era of High-Tech Law Enforcement, Who Will Keep Our Privacy Safe? - 7 views

  •
While the Western world was watching and grieving over the slaughter in Paris last week, and my colleagues in the media were fomenting a meaningless debate about whether President Obama should have gone to Paris to participate in a televised parade, the feds took advantage of that diversion to reveal even more incursions into our liberties than we had known about.

I really don't like being watched by other people. We should think that we can talk to someone privately without someone knowing. BUt we can't, I really don't think we are free doing anything in our daily lives.
  •
Supposedly law enforcement having access to all of this information is in our best interest. But is it really? I know as well as you that there are some crooked cops out there. Who knows what they could do with that information. It does concern me that there are too many people that have access to everything we do or have on devices. This is a major violation of rights who is to say that they don't start violating our other rights just because it MIGHT keep us safer.
  •
I don't think that it's right that the government has a right to see our bills, listen to our phone calls, see our emails, etc. I think that if there isn't something that gives them a reason to suspect you they shouldn't be able to go through our stuff. In my opinion, it is absolutely ridiculous.
  •
This problem won't be faced until the populous takes action and that may take to long for the majority to realize the problem and the violation of privacy.
