Swiss Company Wants Its Drugs Back - 9 views

  •
The death penalty scares me, I have watched movies where they kill people this way and it is cruel. I don't think anyone should be put to death if they are in prison for a crime I think they should do their time. They should sit and rot in prison for the rest of their life, but they are in prison for killing, etc...and then we do the same to them, I don't get it.
  • ...1 more comment...
  •
i feel that the death penalty should stay around as a form of punishment, but only for the most heinous of crimes. As for how we obtained this lethal drug, it is ours legally and can not be taken back. However america should start making our own lethal drugs if we want to take part in executions.
  •
I think we need stay out of overseas activities like this. It doesn't matter if we did everything legally, it's still wrong.
  •
i dont think anyone should go on death row i think they should give them a life sentence and be kept alive that way they feel guilty later on about what they've done and little by little they'll start going crazy and eventually try suicide because they wont want to be locked up forever but the cops wont let them hurt themselves so then they'll be getting even more crazy go psycho probably.....its like self torture for them:)

U.S. News - Cops: Baby injured when mom tries to run over man - 16 views

  •
TAMPA, Fla. -- Police in Florida say an 18-month-old Tampa girl was injured when her mother rammed their car in into a house while trying to run over a man. Authorities say 29-year-old Tamika Lashaunda Willis did not buckle the child into a car seat when she tried to run over the man, eventually ramming the car into his house.

thats crazy. who wouldnt buckle there kid up? and why was she trying to run over someone?
  •
The mom eeds to go to jail cause she is a retard for trying to do sucha stupid thing to a mna trying to kill him and had her baby in risk of dieing.
  •
Not only did she miss the man she was trying to hit, she injured her own child in the meantime... some people just should not have a driver's license..
  •
This is crazy! Do you think they'll let her keep her driving licence???
  •
That's ridiculous that the mother would even take their child to that kind of situation. The fact that she did was bad enough, but she didn't even secure her child, so that's a scary thought to think about. Should she be allowed to have children? I think she isn't responsible enough and seems to be unstable.

Parents consider legal action after South Dakota police use Taser on 8-year-old girl - ... - 4 views

  •
"The parents of an 8-year-old South Dakota girl want the police officer who stunned their daughter with a Taser disciplined, but the police chief said Wednesday that the officer acted properly and may have saved the little girl's life."
  • ...7 more comments...
  •
If the girl was really threatening her life and possible even the cops or the baby sitter than it was good that the cops Tarazed the girl. it probably saved her and maybe even another life.
  •
Personally, I believe that it was wrong to tase the 8 year old. It could have possibly NOT saved her life. What if she fell and stabbed herself in the process. I do think that it was not, but I don't think that the officer's intention was to hurt her, just save her.
  •
I think the police officer did the right thing because the girl was crazy. And there was really no other way to help the situation. I think that the police officers should maybe have another taser that would be better for children who are crazy!
  •
The parents are just mad because this is most likely reflecting on their parenting. They just need to shut their mouths, don't press charges, and get help for their little girl. I just feel bad for the babysitter for having to go through that and for the police officer because he was just doing what he thought was the right thing to do at that time and who is it for the parents to judge what would best be done when they weren't even there.
  •
Ok, yeah, tasers should not be used on children because kids are just super sensitive to certain things, but honestly, a knife is a knife and although the choice made was difficult, it was very smart. The only other option would be to shoot are tackle her. Tackling can lead to the knife accidently stabbing her and shooting could lead to death. Using a taser as I see it was the best option.
  •
no way a child needs tasered. i mean they do but they dont feel free to taze anyone as long as its in your head but never tazer a little kid..
  •
The police officer felt like he had to in order to save the little girl, the only reason i can think of on why the parents would be suing him is because they are afrais it wil hurt their repetation as a parent.
  •
If the girls life was in danger or the officers I would see why he would use a tazer but other wise he should of used a different approach.
  •
She was endangering herself and the officer, he used the least harmful weapon he had. He saved that girls life he should not be getting sued. Obviously the parents are blind to their own kids problems, that's what they should be focusing on.

How do you forget about the very thing that was growing inside you for 9 months

everyday i lose more faith in humanity
  •
Was she on anything. You think she would have heard the child in the back claiming she thought she dropped the child off.
  •
How do you forget your 8 month old son is in the backseat?
  •
You can;t forget a baby. They will cry and you would know if you loved and cared about your child as to if they would still be in the car or not.
  •
If you forget about having your baby in the car, then that's just considered bad parenting and she should just be charged.
  •
New parents have been shown to be more forgetful right at first because of the huge change in life that they don't realize it. But this is going way to far with it, death happened, usually it's only for a minute not long enough for an infant to die.
  •
i don't feel like it was on accident i think they meant to do it but they didn't mean to be gone as long but time just didn't intend for anything wrong to happen
  •
I find the reason to be incredibly sketchy, but I do believe the mother did not mean to kill her child. Perhaps she left her child in the car and meant to only for a small amount of time but forgot?
  •
    This is crazy
  •
I don't think she intentionally killed her kid but it's crazy how you can forget about your baby being let in the car
  •
    How do you just forget?
  •
How forgot your child? this is so sad
  •
That's insane why wouldn't the mother check the backseat before she got out of her car.
  •
I don't think you can just forget your child in a car, this child normally always has your attention
  •
    I can't believe this.
  •
If she said she really dropped him off at the daycare center she would have been conscious of taking him there. Also there should be footage of her dropping him off. If it shows she never showed up, shes obviously lying about that instance and there is more to the story.
  •
okay first off, if you need your purse or something material in the back to remember you have a baby, you shouldn't have one. second off, what the heck did she do when she went to the daycare? how did she imagine giving the baby over to the daycare or something?
  •
how do you forget about your child that is only 8 months old. This is just heart breaking.
  •
Completely heartbreaking. How can you "forget" about a child?
  •
This is really sad and I don't think should ever happen to anyone this is ridiculous and people need to pay attention and start checking and making sure to check there front and back seats even if they don't have any kids.
  •
She shouldn't be having kids. How do you think that you dropped your kid off at daycare if they were still in the back seat. This is ridiculous.

Gaming causing issues - 1 views

  •
There is a game called League of Legends that was developed over 2 years ago. This game is gaining massive popularity, primarily because those who succeed enough at this game get payed to play. For example, George Liu, a 23 year old resident of California makes over 500 dollars a day to play this game for 6 hours a day, 4-5 days a week. This is not even the highest they pay. Similar to sports, this is a team game. Recently, like all sports, they began to hold a 3 week "season playoff" game in which the winning team would receive 1 million dollars (Split between 5 people), and anyone who made it to the finals, left with at least 5 grand in there pocket, not to mention an all expenses payed trip to 3 locations in which they would host the game play. Sounds like fun right, getting payed to play a game you like? What's not fun, cheating. North America's #1 team was eliminated the first game, by the Korean team. Many claim the game play to be unfair, claims of map hacking, and many other claims of cheating have been made. So, an internationally popular game is taking away prize money which will be donated to charity, but the issues of this are so dramatic. So many opinions have been formed, that this is getting a little out of hand, over a game.
  • ...3 more comments...
  •
This is interesting... There are a couple of games that have done promotions where players can make money by playing, however I rarely hear about a game that does anything even remotely close to this. From reading the report/official ruling, there was a lot of screen hacking going on. I'm not really sure why it is possible for the players to screen hack, (aka screen cheating) but I suppose it is possible that there is a good reason. I will have to look into this in more depth to see what all is going on, but this strikes me as extremely interesting.
  •
I find it interesting that there are over 11million accounts active every month, and more then half of them are from America. This means that about about 1 in every 56 people play this game in the united states. Knowing that this is expanding, (And 11million accounts before published in the popular game informer magazine) I am curious to see if this game is going to cause some sort of international relations to develop, for better or worse. It would be interesting to say the least, that gaming fixed the issues between north and south Korea, primarily since both countries were in the season finals for this game.
  •
That would be pretty interesting to read in a history book, but from the way this article sounds, it seems like the game could only make international relations worse, assuming the different countries were on different teams. (I suppose were they a single team, it could certainly bolster better relations of a few nations)
  •
i think its crazy how much funding there is toward this game. i can understand the riot because people can get passionate about anything, but they're spending a lot just for a single game.
  •
It's a world-wide competitive game. I mean, I see football players making more then these guys are giving away. Alex, the American teams nationality was from the same nation that had beat them.

Mitt Romney 'dyed his face brown' to appeal to Latino voters - 1 views

  •
This was incredibly amusing to me. I would really like to doubt this was his intention (perhaps a terrible spray-tan mishap?), as you would have to think very low of your voters to do so purposely. However, he has also received a lot of flak for seemingly pandering to everyone for votes -- this certainly fits that image.

if he did this on purpose i think that is absolutely ridiculous.
  •
That is crazy. I can't believe that he would do that.. let alone anyone doing that.l
  •
Pretty sure 47% of the Latino population is on government aid, so, he's just doing what he can to try and have any chance of winning the up coming election. After his comments, I am pretty sure he is going to struggle to gain anymore aide.
  •
even if he did "dye his face brown" i dont see how he think's that would get him more votes. probably was like ember stated that it was terrible spray tan or too much sun.
  •
I really don't think Mitt Romney would do this because he is desperate for votes, I think the election is running a very close race. Again, he is only human, it could have been a bad spray tan or too much sun on his face or maybe someone who who was getting him "camera ready" put the wrong shade of make up on his face. It could be a number of possibilities, and for people to assume that he "dyed his face brown" to get more votes is ridiculous.

U.S. government insists 2012 apocalypse is a myth - 2 views

  •
One of government's greatest trusts is ensuring the safety of its people. But sometimes you have to protect people from themselves. The U.S. government's latest effort on that front is a blog post patiently explaining that, no, the world will not end this December.

I think this is a good move by the government to keep people from panicking in the next few weeks about the end of the world.
  •
It going to be scary/interesting to see all the things that people are going to do because they think the world is going to end. and i wonder when will the next world end date be
  •
Well sounds like they are going to handle it better than 1999 doomsday.
  •
    people are crazy
  •
If the world ends im going to be pissed.
  •
Media blows things way out of proportion, starting with making the movie "2012." There is no scientific evidence of any apocalyptic events that will happen between now and December 21st, so I don't see what the big hysteria is. People will believe anything the news or the internet says and the internet is only correct a very small fraction of the time.
  •
people need to realize their are these things called lies and/or rumors which can be started easily just buy going on the internet and making something up and it clearly says most astronomers around the world would tell the public somehow if an unknown planet was going to collide with us
  •
"the emergence of a hidden planet known as Nibiru which will crash into Earth." What I want to know is how people believe a planet could be hidden. They're a little large...
  •
The following is a mass of sarcasm and poking fun at the people who believe in Nibiru. Do not attempt to recreate these actions because it's pretty much just me calling some people absolutely foolish. (Do not try this at him warning wannabe.) Read at your own risk. Mallory, they obviously have a cloaking device that prevents us from seeing this planet. When the day comes, the planet is going to ram into us and the world will end, because science has not found a way to flaw this theory, because gravity does not exist, because if gravity existed, this planet would have hit us a long time ago. Obviously.
  •
Foolish Payton, Doctor Who has already conclusively proven that all you need to prevent a planet ramming into us is the Doctor and a time lock. Or, alternately, the Doctor and his TARDIS, which can haul the other planet away. Seriously, though, it's extraordinarily sad that people insist on believing this. Something is very wrong when children become sick and suicidal because they believe in the end of the world. For that to happen the parents/guardians must either be encouraging the belief that the world will end, or at least not doing anything to dispel that belief. Very sad.
  •
As far as the Mayan calendar part is concerned, they probably got bored with doing it and wanted to do something else. But I don't remember anyone saying anything about how the Mayans specifically wrote on the calendar, "This is the day the world will end." Also, the day of Doomsday was later changed to sometime in the spring of 2011, or that's when the Rapture was supposed to happen or something. But nothing happened whatsoever. So it's a little surprising to see people still freaking out about how Doomsday is supposedly on December 21st, when nothing happened on that day in 2011. So nothing's going to happen. It's also really sad that some people want to commit suicide because they think the world is going to end.

Teen who killed baby sentenced to 90 days - 5 views

  •
Admitting he killed his child should not lesson his sentence, nor get him off the hook for anything. He should serve just as long of a punishment as someone would get for manslaughter.
  • ...16 more comments...
  •
I agree with Kayla. Admitting to the murder does not change the fact that the little girl is dead.. So what, if I get mad at my baby sister, throw her down the stairs, and she dies, as long as its my first murder and I admit to it I wont get in that much trouble? Ridiculous.
  •
This is quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever read. Why did he get so little punishment for killing someone? No matter how old the victim is, or how unlikely the person is to commit this crime again, doesn't make the crime any less bad than it was. This man should have gotten much worse. The fact that he got away with this, with only a few punishments, sickens me.
  •
90 days isn't a long enough punishment for killing a baby, even if it was an accident.
  •
He should be sentenced for longer or even for life. If I went out and killed someone they wouldn't let me free just because "I was scared to tell someone so I lied" and "It was an accident" Just because he admitted to murdering her that doesn't mean they should take away from the punishment.
  •
I agree with everyone. If you kill someone, no matter what your age is you should be punished for a lot longer than 90 days.
  •
Admitting to his faults shouldn't of shortened his sentence. He had killed his kid, 90 days in prison is nothing to what he should have really gotten.
  •
19 or not, he should have much more than 90 days. They are basically saying, that even if a 35 year old man killed his child, that its ok because the guy does not have a criminal background.... That is not how things should be.
  •
I am in shock! He killed his daughter and got 90 days! I know people that did little crimes compared to that and got 15 years in prison! I cannot believe it. Who ever was the judge is literally crazy! They need to go back and put him on trial again, and sentence him for life!
  •
He should be put in jail no matter what his criminal record is. He murdered someone and when he said he forcefully put her to bed then obviously he was intending to hurt her. That doesn't exactly sound like an accident.
  •
this is so unreal how stupied it is 90 days really!!! i could go kill someone and get life right now it dosent matter how old u are if you kill someone u should get the full punishment the law will leet u get
  •
90 days is hardly a sentence, just because they think he isn't going to do it again doesn't mean he should get any less then an average person would get.
  •
You kill a child you should be sent away for a long time. Do the crime do the time.
  •
who would kill a innocent child ,like really that messed up!!!
  •
WOW when and/or if someone were to kill an infant they should get more than 90 days. I completely disagree with this sentencing.
  •
He should get longer than 90 days. Who kills a child
  •
This is a cruel world ,why in the world do people have to kill others especially little ones?!
  •
If your having problems put the baby in a safe place don't leave the house but just go to another room and cool down for a little bit.
  •
I understand but I don't. It was not on purpose, when we are angry our better judgement is clouded. I believe he could be forgiven and all, that's a really short sentence either way. Perhaps the family requested his sentence to be shorter to support the mother. ... I don't know. This

Defiant Teen Gets Life Sentences in Ohio Shooting - 1 views

what is wrong with this kid. he is crazy!! now the school should know they need more security so this wont happen again.
  •
Wow, This is shocking. Oddly enough all I could think about the whole time was how do attorneys do their jobs? How in the world could you be strong enough to defend something like that. That young man is sick.
  •
That is terrible! At least he got what he deserved. I don't understand how anybody in their right mind could do such things.
  •
That kid is sick and twist. He doesn't deserve 3 life sentences he deserves the death penatly
  •
I don't understand why nobody saw that there was something wrong with this person he isn't exactly sane it seem I mean to go and kill people for one, then to go to court and act like he did why didn't anyone try and stop him.
  •
People like this don't do well in Prisons. He'll most likely have a very rough life where he's going, especially after what he has said. He'll "get what is coming for him" and I honestly feel no pity, even though I do believe he should be charged as an adult. This is disgusting. I would not have been able to rest easy if I were in that court knowing the guy is in jail after what he had done, let alone what he had said, he deserves way worse than what he got. He obviously took pleasure in killing those innocent students. Good luck in prison, mate, because you are certainly going to need it if you don't want to end up as cold as those concrete walls you'll be surrounded by. Either that or he'll end up as Big Jerry's finger puppet.
  •
The death sentence would be an easy way out for him. Spending your entire life rotting away in jail having your actions hung over your head is a much better punishment in my opinion. Not to mention, killing someone else will not bring your loved ones back or make you feel better, at least it shouldn't anyway. I read a story about a woman's 6 year old daughter who had been kidnapped and murdered, but she did not wish to have the man killed, because she said, "How do I honor Susie and Susie's life and the goodness and sweetness and beauty of who she was? To kill somebody in her name would be an insult to her memory." I'm not saying anyone is wrong, I just think life sentence without parole is a better option.
