The image on the left is entitled Nighthawks, which gave me a very strong impression the first time I saw it on a wordpress blog last week and fortunately I saw it again yesterday in a bookstore. Do you see how sharp the light and the building are? and are you just like me, feeling your heart beat faster and faster by the empty but disturbing atmosphere in the painting. If your anwers can't be more positive, it's about time for you to meet another master like Edward Hopper who can teach you some lessons you can't learn from anyone else.

This website is really a wonderful source for all who can't live without something new in daily basis. It covers from visual to stuff, from interaction to architecture (they all come in differnt feeds. How sweet is that!). And who decides that? It's YOU!! Their members/readers apparently are the boss 'cause  you can add anything fresh, informative or creative but others enjoy the equal right and freedom of deleting whatever hateful. It's a nice tactic, and working very very well for me! :D

Beautiful/Decay was founded on the theory that "if you can't find it, make it." The magazine's format is revolutionary in that it documents the convergence of fine art, graffiti, design, fashion, music, and other contemporary forms of art. The magazine prides itself in exposing its diverse readership to media, ideas, and creative expressions that are not juxtaposed in any other independent publication.

I wish I know who is the aritst who made this marveloust painting, which is currently featured on the homepage of beinArt Surreal Art Collective, a really amazing place for artists of all media. It's the surrealism that truly attracts me, part of the reason is that I don't do surreals, and I'm naturally drawn to things I can't make or don't understand. It's a good thing that my FF takes about 25 seconds to read the Artists page, but a bit of virtue of patience is always rewarding, indeed!- Ian

about illoz

illoz is a portfolio site for Illustrators that doubles as a very useful workspace for art directors. It's an experiment, of sorts. The idea is to establish a new and better way for art directors to find and interact with Illustrators. The program was created by two guys with an idea, the same two odd-balls that brought Drawger to life. More about illoz and why it's here.

illoz is an invitation only portfolio site for Illustrators. It's not for everyone and not everyone who wants a portfolio site here will be able to get one. Numbers are limited to keep the quality high. The cost is 150 American dollars per year and it's free to test drive for 60 days.
