CoBrA was formed thanks to the joining of forces of three experimental groups under the leadership of Christian Dotrement and Asger Jorn in 1948. The group took its name from the first letters of three prominent European cities - Copenhagen, Brussels, Amsterdam - and a manifest was drawn up and afterwards signed in Paris by the group's founding participants, Jorn, Dotrement, Noiret, Appel, Constant and Corneille, at a little café.
A tremendous source for early and contemporary film, sound and written word. The focus is on avant-garde work from several different generations. You can find films by Yoko Ono, audio by William Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg as well as the entire contents of each issue of Aspen Magazine here.
