Linn Olofsdotter, from Sweden, has explored many mediums before solidifying her career in the illustration field. After getting her education in both advertising and graphic design in Europe and the US, she moved to Brazil to start up a motion graphics studio along with her husband and creative partner. More recently Linn worked as a senior art director at a Boston advertising agency. During the beginning of her career she used her skills as an illustrator to help brand TV networks such as Fine Living, MTV and Anime Network amongst others. Nowadays Linn works independently creating artwork for a number of clients in the Fashion, Advertising and Editorial fields such as Oilily, La Perla and Bon Magazine.

This little dancing robot is as cute as cute can be. I had to post this video of it dancing to music. It was developed by scientist (Hideki Kozima and programmed by Marek Michalowski) as a learning aid for children. The design of Keepon is very simple, just two eyes and a button nose It will certainly be a big hit when it goes onto sale in 2010. 

My focus today is on brilliant hues, those colors that zing with intensity, adding energy and style to a space. These intense colors can have a big impact in a room so if you aren't feeling brave and bold, use them as accent colors in decorative accessories or lighting fixtures.

Borrowed this book from a local library a couple of weeks ago. To be honest, it's a bit shocking to me 'cause this book offers a new and quite thought-provoking perspective that helps me to interpret art in a way I have never imagined. Here is another website that gathers few paragraphs from the last chapter about how publicity disguises itself in the form of art and influences our daily life physically and mentally.

This is a great book and it's stood the test of time quite well. Another book I read recently called Do Good Design by David Berman reminded me of Berger's book. In many ways they are very similar but Berman's book focuses entirely on graphic design and directly challenges designers to take responsibility for the culture they create. http://www.davidberman.com/social/dogood.php
