The challenge: create a high-res, jaw-dropping piece of digital art, based on the theme "Infinite Future Chaos". We're giving away a stunning 30-inch Apple Cinema Display.
It's bloody huge, and has beautiful color reproduction. Photoshop never looked so good. Check out the specs: dimensions:sit back a bit.. it just barely fits on your deskrefresh rate:4000 times per picosecondlovely:yesmax. resolution:64 gazilla-pixelsawesome factor:10 "But.. WTF is Infinite Future Chaos?", we hear you ask. Fair question. To be honest, we don't really know what it means. It's possibly something to do with jetpacks... or perhaps trees taking over the city... or trees wearing jetpacks taking over the city with lasoos. Only time will tell. The winners of the 30" Apple Cinema Display and the RedBubble voucher, plus four runners-up, will have their work published in the November issue of Photoshop Creative. jasinski on deviantART - 0 views

Certainly not every deviant has more than 445,000 visitors (or ever will), but this can only be tranlated as a mere fact that Mr. Jasiniski has something special in his works (as the left image called "The Drummer") that reminds you of songs like "Can't Takes My Eyes off of You." It's quite a long journey if you wanna take a trip through his visual gallery, but it's never tiring but pleasing and refreshing. From simple composition to crowds of cartoon characters, from deadly facial expressions to barely possible combo of colors, his aesthetic power never stops but always explodes in each work. My instinct let me bookmark his page immediately and jot down those words, as for my nature, it tells me uniqueness can't happen unless you run into it at times.

Humble Voice // GEUCLIDE - 0 views

Honestly, I'm not a guy into overmuch, though I alaways admire the idea and labour of creating art. As for geuclide's works, THANKS GOD he knows the boundary and jumps out of the stereotypes skillfully and stylishly. I can pull out a whole package of adjectives to describe his works, one of them is MARVELOUS. As you can see on the left, his abstract appear like an abstract landscape painting, with soft, appealing color schemes, plenty of space around and a bit of darker doodle that brings extra moves and delightful surprise to the image, which basically makes me wanna pick up the phone immediately and ask him how much he would like to sell it. :O) If you can' agree my viewpoint more, go check out his humblevoice gallery, for he has lots of things to feast your hungry eyes.

Jean-Félix | terminus1525.ca - 0 views

I love stumbing upon something beyond my expectation. Today I checked out my account on terminus1525.ca, found a name listed under Recent Visitors, and I can't help but clicked on the link. That's when I was drawn to the abyss of imagination of Jean-Félix. This artist created something that is soft, solid, organic, futurist and dynamic. The way he plays with composition and colors are really incredible for a guy who is only 26. Do pay attention to his details - that's how you feel the power of his ART.

DesignCorner is a feed aggregator for design related feeds, with special interest on product design, graphics and visuals, interaction, research and innovation…
Feeds are aggregated manually and posts are kept or deleted in order to display the best and freshest news about design.

This website is really a wonderful source for all who can't live without something new in daily basis. It covers from visual to stuff, from interaction to architecture (they all come in differnt feeds. How sweet is that!). And who decides that? It's YOU!! Their members/readers apparently are the boss 'cause  you can add anything fresh, informative or creative but others enjoy the equal right and freedom of deleting whatever hateful. It's a nice tactic, and working very very well for me! :D

Computer Arts - Be more creative - 0 views

  • It’s vital to keep your creative juices flowing when fulfilling design briefs, for both your work and your sanity. Industry pros reveal how they stay inspired
  • Computers aren’t everything – screens don’t provide solutions if you stare at them for long enough. Wrench yourself free and investigate relevant media and forms of expression.
  • If you’re working solo, however, work fast and don’t think too much – use sketchbooks to get ideas down quickly. And, when struggling, don’t force ideas; instead, temporarily put a project on hold and work on something else. Projects often then inform each other.
  •
"Computers aren't everything" I think that's an incredibly important statement. Drawing with a nice pen or pencil on good paper can get you thinking in a very different way than arranging pixels on a screen. When I'm stuck, or even when I'm not stuck for ideas I find the nearest library and look for the oldest, largest most decrepit books and pull them off the shelf to look at them. There are many gems languishing on forgotten shelves. The other day I found a very large book from the 1920s chock full of beautifully colored prints of Masonic symbols and imagery. I took photos, if anyone's interested...

textual thoughts: Guest Post - Arcadian Lighting - 2 views

  • Decorating your home in all mid-century style might be a little too Mad Men for our contemporary lives. Adding a few mid-century modern touches—chairs, tables, light fixtures, textiles—can bring Mad Men (and now Pan Am) style into your décor without transporting your home back a few decades. We're happy to share some of our favorite ways to add mid-century modern touches to any décor.
  • Interior Style Along with mid-century modern furniture, mid century modern textiles are a chic way to add mid-century modern touches to a room, sofa, bed or table. Marimekko, the Finnish textile company, sells its mid-century patterned fabrics still today.

Style Club Salon by Douglas Wallace Architects - 1 views

  • ocated in the heart of Dublin, Style Club Salon was founded in 1961, 47 years ago. This salon was in desperate need of an update and a completely new concept. When the Douglas Wallace Architects were hired for the job, directors Berry Dempsey and Mark Keaveney requested something completely out of the ordinary. They knew that in order to be successful in the fashion business, there is a constant need for innovation.

Wall Art We Love - 1 views

  • One of the best home accessories you could ever hope to buy is wall art. Wall art can be a great way to accent a room or display a collection. It’s also a great way to get around the restrictions specific to apartment-dwelling since most won’t let you paint your walls. But never fear…
  • Quint Essence This is a great example of using a very large, blown-up picture to create the effect of an accent wall. These are typically stretched out pieces of canvas that are adhered to the wall.

Visual Thinking - 2 views

  • Artists have long been trying to understand how we preceive, and much of our understanding of vision comes from learning how artists manipulate images into meaningful and realistic scenes.
  • According to Professor McKim, visual thinking is carried on by three broad kinds of visual imagery: images we see (not the things themselves we are seeing); images we imagine (and dream); and images we draw.
