How did the eLearning world end up as irrelevant as it has? What was once a promising medium seems to have floundered into pit of mediocrity.

I think there are two things that relate to each other that explain what has happened here.

What can learning specialists conclude from the science of forgetting? For a memory to persist, the information must be attended to, deeply processed, and connected in a meaningful way with existing knowledge. When it’s known that the learner’s knowledge base could compete with newly acquired information, allow the learner time to discriminate between the two types of content. Practicing the retrieval of information can facilitate retention because reconstructing memories alters them and makes them “stronger.” Don’t expect learner’s to remember trivial information. It won’t be remembered after the test.

Informal learning is what workers rely on most

collaboration, self-directed study, conversations with others, networks, and blogs were essential and very important ways to learn in the workplace.

Dans les années à venir, de nombreuses applications devraient voir le jour dans différents domaines, tels l’éducation, la santé, la communication, la défense ou encore la sécurité civile. Quant aux domaines liés à la vente, la logistique, le management, ces secteurs devraient connaître des taux de croissance de plus en plus importants.
