I really enjoyed your webquest and thought you guys did a really good job. The webquest was easy to follow and the writing was age-appropriate. I think some of your images are a little bit strange and your home page needs work. I think you came up with a really cool project but definitely need to have the examples of the "social message", I'm not really sure what you mean by that. The only problem I had with your rubric was that the picture was too small and it was hard to read. The criteria in your rubric matched up with the project and process. I think that it will be really good for the students to learn how to use imovie. This webquest gives students a way to work with others in their class and combine new ideas. I think you should stress the importance of critiquing each others work on youtube.

I think this web quest is off to a very great start even if they are having technical difficulties. They are creating a complex and fun project that I think the class will enjoy. The steps for how to use iMovie were very descriptive and helpful, and I feel very bad that they will not be able to use iMovie. Hopefully this group can figure out another way to explain the process, since they did a nice job of that. Something that would be helpful is maybe if they took screenshots of the process of using the designated movie maker. For example, someone who has never used a movie maker may have difficulty following words & text, but have an easier time following screen shot images that clearly demonstrate where the buttons and tools are at. This may also apply to use a camera/video camera because some students may not have been exposed to these prior (just something to keep in mind).

Also, I think some of the links the group is using direct students to go on YouTube. I think sometimes in schools YouTube can get blocked easily by the school privacy settings, so I would double check with that so you don't run into any difficulties.

I think this task will offer students a great way to interact with each other and work together to problem solve the process. I think that they will be so excited to show each other their stop motion because of how creative and fun the process is. They created a nice rubric at the end also so the evaluation and assessment is very clear. The theme of the website is consistent, easy to navigate and easy to read. They picked a difficult topic to display on the website and with all their problems I think they are doing a great job and I cannot wait to see the final product!

    1. It is important that you included many examples of stop animation clips around your web quest to teach the students about what a stop-animation is visually and conceptually. There are obvious formatting problems that I know you are working on, but I like the reasonable amount of reading that you use to explain the process and state the guidelines.
    2. The creation of any animation involves critical thinking but I can see how students could get away with not thinking so creatively and still ending up with an animation that fits the criteria of the assignment having learned the process effectively; but this also means that anyone is capable of learning the exercise.
    3. Your rubric is very clear in describing what is expected from each student. I might include point values for each column to make it even clearer.
    4. The technologies you utilize for your web quest are currently iMovie (soon to be changed to Moviemaker according to what the students have access to, I assume) and YouTube. Your instructions for iMovie were, unfortunately, very good even though they have to be changed.
    5. Give your students an opportunity to watch each others' animation and possible have a group/class critique on them to fulfill the need for student to student interaction in the class.

    Great Idea!
