I thought that schools might want to incorporate the free resources at the bottom of this page into their internet safety lessons. Things are broken down by age which I thought was very helpful.

Reviews are broken down into very specific categories. I haven't heard of some of these but they might be worth checking out.

This article is written by a gentleman who is for technology, however, he is addressing the four major reasons he has found for reasons people oppose technology. I was actually surprised at the four he narrowed it down to and summarized. Never really thought about most of them as reasons for NOT wanting technology integration! Interesting!

Wow! What a list.... I enjoyed reading the comments to the blog as well. The "contrary to..." seemed very extreme but had some good points. I'm imagining that this agument would have probably been used during the industrial revolution as well.

This article talks about teachers who actively use cell phones in their classroom. While they make some valid points and have come up with somre really creative lessons, I still am a tad bit skeptical!

So is it possible that cell phones just don't fit with traditional education? In other words, as long as schools are organized the way they are, we just can't use them for all the reasons we've talked about: safety, distraction, cheating, etc. etc.

I think some teachers are willing to try and incorporate them into education, but the majority think it is too much of a hassle. As an administrator and a teacher, I personally think the cons out weigh the pros.

I think this article does a good job of summarizing contemporary beliefs on both sides of the debate.

LOVE THIS ONE! Great site for parents to know how to keep their kids safe on facebook, and it is kind of a course on how to use facebook and how to access different things on your child's page. I might even need to read them so I know how to use facebook better!

This lists some of the concerns and things that would need to happen if Facebook was allowed in schools. I guess there are some school systems that do allow it. I can't even imagine allowing our students to have access to FB during school hours.
