Project to collect together geographical images of every square kilometre of the UK - some great photos that are free to use
  •
This is a fantastic idea, though there's a missed opportunity in that they haven't tied the photographs to the map with much accuracy so finding a photo of a specific area can be tough! If they linked the photos to the maps Google Maps-style it would be perfect!

    This is fascinating.

Know a few schools loosely using it or adapting. Have you seen enquiring minds? link below
  •
Quick look. We used Opening Minds as loose inspiration for the SMART programme at Olchfa, and I went to a couple of the conferences. Thought the students that spoke were excellent. Didn't quite fit with what we were doing, but if I was starting again, this would be my starting point I think.

We are going to be using this from September 2011. Any advice gratefully received.
  •
How are you planning on using it? Happy to give you some of the feedback from our experience of SMART.
  •
This looks interesting but haven't quite got to grips with how it might look in the classroom. I'd be interested in any examples.

Have a look at the videos in this series from Teachers TV, some of them used Opening Minds. http://www.teachers.tv/series/ks3-new-curriculum

Questioning Toolkit - 1 views

  • What does it mean to be a good friend? What kind of friend shall I be? Who will I include in my circle of friends? How shall I treat my friends? How do I cope with the loss of a friend? What can I learn about friends and friendships from the novels we read in school? How can I be a better friend?

I really like this questioning website - I'm going to share it with the NGfL Cymru team. DCELLS are big on Socratic questioning at the moment - we've done some research - I'll post some of the best sites we've found in a bit

If you search for questioning tag you'll find a few more socratic questions links too!
