Funded by the European Commission and co-ordinated by the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research in the UK, ADAM (Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies: supporting European climate policy) is an integrated research project running from 2006 to 2009 that will lead to a better understanding of the trade-offs and conflicts that exist between adaptation and mitigation policies. ADAM will support EU policy development in the next stage of the development of the Kyoto Protocol and will inform the emergence of new adaptation strategies for Europe

The Earth's climate is changing. Rising global temperatures will bring changes in weather patterns, rising sea levels and increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather.

South West Western Australia (SWWA) has not escaped and is acknowledged as a highly vulnerable region to the impacts of climate change. Its temperature is already 0.8°C higher than in 1910; however, the most notable impact is a 10 to 15 per cent reduction in rainfall since 1975, which has had a major impact on water supplies and industries such as agriculture.

This programming site has been developed to provide guidance on preparing proposals on adaptation-related projects for submission to UNDP-GEF. The site is intended as a companion site to UNDP's intranet and UNDP/GEF's programming manual which outlines streamlined policies and procedures for submitting project proposals.

CBA-X is a shared online resource designed to bring together and grow the CBA community. It provides a site for the exchange of up-to-date information about community-based adaptation, including news, events, case-studies, tools, policy resources, and videos.
