Today numbers of companies are growing in the IT business because of increasing demand of IT and software solutions for industries. Since 2007 Lero - the Irish Software Engineering Research Centre has been running an Education and Outreach Program to encourage students to discover and learn about computing and software development. We have developed Scratch lesson plans, to teach software development to students. Scratch is a visual programming language that makes it easy to create interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art and share these creations on the web.

The conclusion is that either people are in a big rush to learn about computers, or that computers are somehow fabulously easier to learn than anything else. There are no books on how to learn Beethoven, or Quantum Physics, or even Dog Grooming in a few days. Felleisen et al. give a nod to this trend in their book How to Design Programs, when they say "Bad programming is easy. Idiots can learn it in 21 days, even if they are dummies.

In the fall of 1977, I experimented with a newfangled PC, a Radio Shack TRS-80. For data storage it used-I kid you not-a cassette tape player.
