      This group is not part of the "Church Body"-and claiming that the church, and not the state uncovered the abuse-is laughable. ALL ABUSE IS "DISCOVERED" BEFORE IT IS REPORTED TO THE STATE...BUT, EVEN THIS "CHURCH-SPONSORED" GROUP CLAIMS THE CHURCH (AS IN THE "REAL" CHURCH BODY) TRIED TO HIDE THE NEEDED INFORMATION...AND EVEN "MISLED" (THAT IS CALLED LYING BY MOST PEOPLE) THE GROUP TO TTRY TO MAKE THEM INEFFECTIVE.... So is it a "body" divided against itself...or is it as it has always been....The clerics vs the powerless laity-or BUSINESS AS USUAL "So, the best way to prevent another Cloyne from happening is for the church to adopt a strategy of independent, standards-based, monitoring across all of the church with a commitment to publication of the findings"

      I have looked at the materials written by churches to educate children about inappropriate "touching", but have yet to see A SINGLE INSTANCE of a "bad person" approaching the child to be portrayed as a PRIEST.....

She left a suicide note that accused a senior nun, in the convent, of sexual harassment. In a fit of uncharacteristic originality, the Superior of St. Mary's convent denied the allegations by saying that sexual abuse is impossible because the nuns sleep in a cubicle which is only 6 feet high. And two orphans try to kill themselves.. On August 26, 2008, two girls living in the Nithya Sahaya Matha Balika Mandiram, an orphanage for girls, tried to commit suicide. The orphanage is part of the Holy Cross order in which Sister Anupa was ordained. The two girls who had consumed poison and were admitted in a hospital run by the church gave a rather garbled explanation. They said that an apprentice priest Benedict spoke to them in a humiliating tone when he was counselling them and also told them that he had come to know that they were not good girls. Another girl who was also present at the counselling session told the Kerala State Women's Commission the priest had only blessed them by putting his hands over their heads and told them to be good girls.

    The Pope`s comments in reference to child pornography and pedophilia are indefensible and reprehensible. It would be bad enough if a parish priest uttered such vile comments, but for the head of the Roman Catholic Church to subscribe to these evil delusions is frightening. Pedophilia and child pornography have always been considered absolutely evil in the United States. It is patently false that child pornography is increasingly considered normal by society. While it`s true that due to the advent of the Internet more perverts are viewing child porn, it`s also true that that in the last few years there has been a flood of legislation toughening the penalties for the possession and dissemination of child porn.

    It was a political event. A Republican politician was a featured speaker. Republican political operatives were on hand and sent out photos, such as the one above. Republicans called the roll on which Republicans were in attendance and Democrats who were not. Obamacare and abortion were much on the minds of the attendees. Catholic Bishop Anthony Taylor got a noticeably cool response when he mentioned the government's ill treatment of immigrants. Taylor, whose advocacy for immigrants was once a foundational interest, has become more engaged in sexual politics of late, and not just the all-out fight against contraception. He also recently punished a vital Latino assistance group because of its tangential relationship to an out-of-state organization that believed help to immigrant families should include those headed by same-sex parents.  In short: Friday's rally was primarily about people who want to defeat President Obama's health care policies and defeat Obama in the fall. A non-existent attack on religion was the bloody shirt.

    If you're a priest in the archdiocese of Philadelphia, you can "act out sexually" all you want. You can get away with it for years, even decades at a time, while they transfer you from parish to parish, in between recuperative stays at St. John Vianney's, the friendly archdiocese clinic for sex abusers. Just make sure that you don't disobey an order from the archbishop. Because in the archdiocese of Philadelphia, that's the one unpardonable sin for which there is zero tolerance. To make that point Wednesday, the prosecution had Detective James Dougherty read into the record 34 formerly confidential documents regarding the case of Monsignor Michael C. Picard. And then, the prosecution brought the monsignor to the witness stand to tell his story.
