Way back in the day, when I was a student, I remember drawing out my timelines with colored pencils on pieces of taped together construction paper (to make the line long enough). We've come a long way since the late '80′s, and there are a lot of web tools and apps out there that help users make much more advanced timelines than I could crank out with my awesome colored pencils. Whether you're using them to chronicle well known historical events, or your own personal history, these tools can bring together audio, video, photos, text, and more to showcase a well rounded, multimedia timeline to tell your story. Time Toast timetoast Time Toast also offers uses free, unlimited timelines and easy Facebook integration. The interface is extremely simple - just click 'add an event', and you can add text, links, or photos. While it doesn't offer some of the audio/video options that some of the other products we mention in this post do, it offers a lot more simplicity. Of note, there are a number of ads on the site - which can be expected with a free tool - but just something to keep in mind. Meograph meograph Meograph's tagline is 'Four Dimensional Storytelling'. It offers a simple interface that allows users to combine news, history, travels, life events, photos, videos, audio, etc to create a multifaceted timeline. Capzles capzles Capzles is similar to Meograph in that it allows users to integrate information from a variety of different sources (video, audio, photos, text, etc) into one multifaceted timeline. I made a nice story using this. It is very easy to use, has different options for page set up depending on the picture orientation, but when I signed up, they sent me an email and it still hasn't come through to my school email, no spam either...this has happened with Prezi emails too.

Making referencing real Do you know how to reference the resources you use in a research project? When you do any kind of research you will be getting information from a lot of different places. As well as Internet sites you may use, books, magazines, videos, interviews, newspapers etc. The task you are given and the kind of information you require will determine which resources you use. It is very important to record the places that you got your information from in a bibliography or reference list. In fact you should start making your reference list right at the start of your project and record every source of information you use. Even if you only get a couple of ideas and don't quote anything you still need to acknowledge the source of information.

Draw your own comics Chogger is an awesome comic strip building platform. It looks like Pixton and Make Beliefs  but offers extra services. Choggers has a good editing tool that allows users to create their own cartoons out of imported photos. Users can even hook on their camera and snap images to edit on Chogger. There are also tools to help users start  drawing their own  images  from scratch. It is indeed so much fun working on Chogger and students will definitely feel at ease using it. Witty Comics is a cool website. It allows its users to create two characters dialogues. This is a great learning tool for students. They love cartoons and comics and are much more inclined to learn via dialogues and interactive  play roles. Teachers can use Witty Comics to create dialogues underlining the target structures they want to teach  and let students act them out. Students can on their part use Witty Comics to create thier own  dialogues and rehearse them in front of their peers. Witty Comics is a good tool to foster students communicative skills and enhance their creative powers. Witty Comics is free of charge and is very easy to use. It has a simple platform that any one can handle , the only thing you need to do is to register with them and start making comics straight away. iPiccy is another great photo editing web site. It allows its users to add wonderful effects to their images. What is great about this tool is that it does not require any installation or download. Whenever you are connected you can just head over to its main page and start editing right from there. iPiccy offers a plethora of editing functions that you can use very easily . Among these editing  services are resizing, cropping, rotation, contrast fixing, and equalizing.. You can also use their cartonizing tools to turn your pictures into cartoons, a service which i like the most.     iPiccy lets you upload your own pictures from your computer or  select an image that is stored online.
