Push Pop Press - Al Gore's Our Choice - 0 views

  •
" Our Choice will change the way we read books. And quite possibly change the world. In this interactive app, Al Gore surveys the causes of global warming and presents groundbreaking insights and solutions already under study and underway that can help stop the unfolding disaster of global warming. Our Choice melds the vice president's narrative with photography, interactive graphics, animations, and more than an hour of engrossing documentary footage. A new, groundbreaking multi-touch interface allows you to experience that content seamlessly. Pick up and explore anything you see in the book; zoom out to the visual table of contents and quickly browse though the chapters; reach in and explore data-rich interactive graphics. "

Virtual Field Trips | SimpleK12 - 0 views

Virtual field trips challenge and expose students to new types of technology. It is a great way to spark their interest and motivate their learning in a specific content area. Virtual field trips can offer students more opportunities because you can take them to places they wouldn't normally be able to go to otherwise - like inside a volcano or ocean floor! In addition, virtual field trips may even boost students' reading comprehension skills and will expose them to different cultures and environments. While virtual field trips offer a great learning opportunity, they can be hard to organize and time consuming. Take advantage of our free virtual field trips and engage your students even more!

We could use this with our younger ones as well as long as we let their parents know and they do not choose to opt their child out.

"Welcome to Civil War Animated If a picture is worth a thousand words, a good animation is worth ten thousand. After reading book after book about the US Civil War and finding only complicated maps with dotted lines and dashed lines crisscrossing the pages, we decided to depict the key naval and land battles using animation technology."

The civil war and reconstruction era Yale online courses - 0 views

Brian Peoples 06 Aug 11 08:19:00 These are really useful - I use The "End" of Reconstruction in class because Prof. Blight lectures effectively on topics such as the 14th and 15th amendment, Frederick Douglass, precedent setting SC decisions such as Slaughterhouse & Cruikshank. Blight uses some humor and is a phenomenal storyteller who effectively links past to present.
