Yoga Diet and Cancer Prevention - Yoga Teacher Training Blog - 0 views

  •
By Faye Martins Before we discuss lifestyles for cancer prevention, it is important to note that cancer does not discriminate. It is possible for a person of any culture, religion, ethnic origin, age, gender or lifestyle, to encounter a battle with cancer. However, certain lifestyles are at higher risk. Cancer risk is in some ways like the risk of getting into an auto accident, in that wearing a seat belt does not guarantee that we will get home safely. However, if we decide to forget the seat belt, drink beer, drive over the speed limit, and text our friends, while driving, we are less likely to get home safely. If we do arrive home at all, after such taking risks behind the wheel, we are "lucky to be alive."

  •
By Dr. Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500 You have heard it a thousand times: "Don't lock your knees." or "Keep your elbows soft." Teaching Yoga: The Power of Observation - Yoga Practice Blog - 0 views

  •
By Amruta Kulkarni, CYT 250 If you have ever seen a master yoga teacher at work, you probably gazed in wonder as he or she created an inviting, calm class atmosphere; put people at ease with a smile, gesture, or comment; or flowed through a series of poses, detailing modifications and potential risks, without a hitch. Although, for some of us teaching yoga comes naturally, there is much to be learned about teaching skills and methods simply by observing others.
