Legalizing or not legalizing gay marriage has been a contingent issue for a long time. This is also showing one of the six characteristics that rhetoric is responsive, this article is about some of the responses that people had on the ruling of gay marriage.

This is a kairotic article because many states are deciding whether to legalize gay marriage or not. Also, the exigence is obviously the fact that some states are beginning to legalize the marriages.

I came across this article on Facebook and I was really struck by the pictures. This is a great example of visual rhetoric. Each image causes you to think and respond to the culture shown in it. The collection of pictures seeks to persuade the viewers that there is so much more going on in the world than what we know in America. Like it says in the description, our world is not simple or perfect and these pictures show the real struggles in the world. The pictures definitely appeal to pathos, especially each photo with children. Contingent issues like war and gay marriage are shown in the photographs. I love how the pictures can capture an entire story and prompt so much thought.
