LibGuides - Knowledge Sharing for Libraries
LibMarks - Social Bookmarking and Tagging for Libraries
Came across these SpringShare tools today - LibGuide (for subject guides) and LibMarks (social bookmarking for libraries)...
Darthmouth uses LibGuides for their subject guides. http://libguides.dartmouth.edu/ . Looks really cool!
scoped search tool that I will be working to integrate so that our subject specialists and instructors can generate code to include on their subject pages or course guides
Parts that stood out for me:
"Over the last year, we've started explaining design as "the rendering of intent." The designer imagines an outcome and puts forth activities to make that outcome real."
"It seems pretty clear to us that the Global Entry team had a typical intention of many government (and non-government) design teams: get the service up and running...
In contrast, the We The People team wanted to showcase that a government design team can produce designs on par with the best non-government commercial teams."
"Well, everyone who participates in the rendering of their intention is a designer, using this definition."
"Many of our design deliverables, such as wireframes, prototypes, and style guides, are as much about getting agreement on what we intend as they are to move our intentions closer to done."
draft framework for bridging the present and past web - interlinking resources with their archival/version resources - I've been fascinated with how we might do this - glad somebody is looking at it.
be powerful tools when working with clients on website design and discovery projects. They help create structured limitations, within which productive conversations can take place and decisions can be made faster. Use this kit to help control scope and manage your client conversations, or simply use it as a tool for developing designs and websites faster.
