Le Centre technique de coopération agricole et rurale (CTA) lance aujourd'hui un guide destiné aux jeunes souhaitant développer des entreprises e-agricoles dans les pays d'Afrique, des Caraïbes et du Pacifique (ACP). Ce Guide pour l'agripreneuriat TIC a été conçu pour aider les jeunes entrepreneurs à exploiter au mieux les technologies de l'information et de la communication (TIC). Celles-ci ouvrent des possibilités considérables pour les économies des pays ACP, spécialement dans le secteur du commerce agroalimentaire. Ce manuel est dévoilé à l'African Agripreneurs Youth Forum qui se tient le 25 et 26 avril à Ibadan, au Nigeria.

Le CRIFPE fête cette année ses 20 ans d'existence. Le Colloque international en éducation : Enjeux actuels et futurs sur la formation et la profession enseignante est donc l'occasion de faire un bilan de notre champ de recherche, la formation et la profession enseignante, et d'en explorer les enjeux actuels, tout en pensant l'avenir. L'objectif scientifique général de ce colloque international est donc de susciter des débats et des réflexions de haut niveau intellectuel dans les diverses sphères entourant les axes de recherche du CRIFPE. Après un premier colloque international en 2003, La profession enseignante au temps des réformes, ce deuxième colloque aura donc une visée plus large où viendront se greffer les domaines spécifiques reliés aux Chaires de recherche associées au CRIFPE, soit la Chaire de recherche du Canada sur l'étude de la formation à l'enseignement (Pr Clermont Gauthier), la Chaire de recherche du Canada sur les politiques éducatives (Pr Christian Maroy) et la Chaire de recherche du Canada sur les technologies de l'information et de la communication en éducation (Pr Thierry Karsenti). The ICT 2013 event will be the first opportunity to learn the details of research funding for ICT-related projects under Horizon 2020, the EU's new research program for 2014-2020. The European Commission proposed an €80 billion package for research & innovation funding, as part of the drive to create sustainable growth and new jobs in Europe. Horizon 2020 will support the development of ICT in Science (in future and emerging technologies or e-Infrastructures); in industrial leadership (such as smart systems, robotics, photonics, etc.) and in societal challenges (such as eHealth, eGovernment and eSkills)."

"A 'Center for Commercial and Agricultural Information' (PICA) for the collection and the publication of price lists via the internet has been launched in Togo to enable farmers and traders to interact over prices and availability of products by ICT The center is equipped with computer and Internet facilities with a web page www.tradenet.biz with a strong integration of data and mobile technology. The center will allow producers and tradesmen to consult in real time over price lists that are in conformity with the ECOWAS region."

"The Hindu Business Line-. There are over 80 web sites and portals ran by Governments providing information to farmers on soil, plant protection, diseases, weather forecast, fertiliser use and farm and crop management. The number could be much more in the private sector. All this is likely to confuse the farmer. To tackle this, the Union Government has come up with the idea of a unified portal, to provide information on all farming needs. The portal www.farmer.gov.in, is not fully live yet. The basic version integrates the convergence technologies to offer latest information to farmers, instead of uploading dated information. "Compare this with the number of agri-climatic zones in the country. They are just 23. When they open the portal, the farmers see the Indian map. Depending on their location, they can select a State and the block they belong to," said Sanjeev Gupta, Joint Secretary of Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Government of India. "

Agribusiness and entrepreneurship are two critical areas which have a strong potential to increase employment opportunities for youth and to boost economies in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. Similarly, the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) is modernising the agricultural sector and providing more opportunities for youth. In particular, young farmers who apply ICT tools and skills to their farming businesses generally have higher yields, incomes and social status.

Increasing agricultural productivity in developing countries and promoting youth employment and entrepreneurship are important recommendations of the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations in 2015. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) play an important role. Young entrepreneurs using ICT innovations are particularly suited to contribute to increased agricultural productivity and sustainability given their inventiveness, energy and capacity to take risks.

Under the program Research and Innovation Network for Europe and Africa (RINEA), Africans can apply for mobility grants to promote business, technological, and research partnerships in Europe. The current call focuses on Food Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture, and related fields. The program offers three match-making events, one in Italy and two in Denmark, for which applications are invited from African SMEs, universities, research institutions, and other R&I organizations. The application deadline is 29 April 2016.

"Ten years ago, the UNESCO International Meeting on Innovation and Excellence in TVET Teacher/Trainer Education held in Hangzhou, China, asked for developing TVET into an internationally acknowledged scientific community in order to professionalize TVET teacher/trainer education and to integrate TVET as sustainable, reproductive and innovative national scientific systems into national systems of innovation. The First World Congress on Teacher Education for Technical and Vocational Education and Training held in 2008 in Bandung, Indonesia reaffirmed this request by demanding that TVET teacher/trainer education should encompass "studies in the analysis, design and evaluation of: (a) vocational learning, educational and qualification processes, (b) occupational work and business processes, and (c) technology as an object of work and learning processes (d) as well as critical pedagogy for social change," and by asking for establishing respective "frameworks for promoting the continuing professional development of TVET practitioners." The key messages in this brief are as follows: 1) Engineering can help Africa unlock its huge potential for economic growth and development and make faster progress toward the Millennium Development Goals. 2) However, there is a serious lack of engineering capacity in Africa and heavy reliance on imported expertise in engineering. 3) Higher education institutions need to change their approach to teaching engineering so that graduates are creative problem-solvers. Engineering courses also need to be oriented towards market and development needs. 4) Women are under-represented in engineering education, constituting less than 10 percent of the student population in Ghana, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe in 2010. 5) Few African countries have established a robust accreditation system. In addition to improving national accreditation, regional accreditation of engineering professionals should be encouraged so that engineers have greater mobility within Africa. 6) A proposed World Bank initiative, the Partnership for Skills in Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (PASET) will build capacity for technical, vocational and higher education in African countries.
