"Some of these apps illustrate the power of the iPad. These Shakespeare in Bits are the perfect combination of cool graphics and slick infotainment that many teachers are looking for to get their students excited about their subject. The comic feel of these apps doesn't take away from the power of the message or the human tragedy of the Shakespeare texts but what it does do, is to provide an entry point for students that are not familiar with the language or the concepts."

He does a lot of work around iPads but is interested in ensuring that the learning is authentic. "This week's pick is Storehouse, an app that claims to be 'the easiest way to create and discover beautiful stories' and does a great job of living up to that promise. I've seen a large number of iPad apps with similar purposes, but Storehouse stands out right away due to the spectacular photography in the stories and the app's wonderful, gesture-based interface. "

"TouchCast is an iPad app that I downloaded recently and have been exploring a bit over the last couple of weeks. It's not often an app come along which really shakes up and existing genre like video, but I think TouchCast does and in a way that can be very beneficial for learners."

Two hundred calories is a whole lot of apples, but less than half of a Big Mac. It's a plate full of broccoli, but more like a spoonful of peanut butter. App Smashing is when students create content using a variety of apps for example smashing Tellagami and iMovie to make a video.
