Zamrud lake (Emerald lake) was originally two adjoining lakes, the Pulau Besar Lake and Bawah Lake. Because in the village of Zamrud, the lake is more popular among the people with the name of Zamrud Lake.

Tourists are interested to walk to a small, but picturesque Lake Akna (also Aknalich and Aygerlich), located 35 km west of Echmiatsin, on Hoktemberyan highway in Armavir Province.
