Contains three levels: Essence of simple machines where the player learns about all of the types of simple machines and mechanical advantage. Find the simple machine where the player finds the simple machines used in the construction of a lawnmower. Putting simple machines together where the player must correctly calculate the mechanical advantage of various simple machines used to complete a task.

Good site, contains more how and why explanations than "EdHead" does.

Game Central - Discovery.com. One of the most intriguing stations on television brings a host of varied gaming opportunities to youngsters of all ages.

A simulation/game where the player makes selections of crop and animals to "grow". "Cards" are drawn that give the player the chance to make choices for type of product, machinery, fertilizer, etc. Players start the game with $2,000,000 and current average costs are deducted for each choice made to set up the farm. The game cycles through a year and occasional "Baaaaad news" cards pop up, usually costing more money. Players are also given choices for contract prices for their products and determine how much yield to put out to contract. At the end of the year, the estimated sales are applied and the income is calculated. Players can look at a summary of their efforts.

Middle to High School Students. The player needs to run tests on the patient, and then decide what blood type the patient is so that they can give them a blood transfer.

Although not a free site, Zoodles has a great deal of interactive games for the various primary school age subjects. My 10-year-old enjoyed the free trial so we're considering purchasing a membership for 1 year. Subjects include reading, math, science, and writing.

This is a fun interactive game where you can learn your age and weight on other planets.

Here is another site dedicated to understanding and solving math problems. What's interesting about this site is that English and Science are incorporated as well. It's a known fact that these 3 subjects are dependent upon one another and understanding these subjects (as a whole) is essential. This site is geared for the primary grades.

A site featuring dozens of games with social impact. Organized well by grade level.

This website allows you to enter vocabulary words and be able to practice the words by clicking on two options, say word or use in a sentence. Once you have learned the word you are able to test as well as play games.

This game is set up like a hangman game where students are given clues, and they are asked to figure out what is wrong with the character.

I just like this game since I am a Psychology major, and the kids learn about this in elementary school. 3rd-6th.

This website allows you to enter phrases which inturn associates the words to images. Students will be able to enter any phrase they want or they may visit the archive. This is fun and interative tool that can be used to enhance vocabulary words or as you see fit.

Not really gaming per se - but I like Fringe!!
