Great Basin National Park has numerous wildlife zones and amazing views of the distant mountains and desert scenery. This is a welcome change from the greenish plains covered by sagebrush. These plains cover much of the state. Great Basin National Park has another attraction in the form of Lehman Caves. It is a cavern system replete with beautiful limestone formations.

Bear spray is illegal in national parks, however, individual parks can override this law using an instrument called a 'Superintendent's Compendium.' This explains why bear spray is allowed in national parks out west, but remains illegal in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Khaptad National Park is the newest national park in Nepal. This park was established in the year 1984 and has received its designation in the year 1985. The total area covered by this park is 225 sq. km and includes the region of forests and grasslands.

aldapara National Park (formerly Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary) is a National Park situated at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in northern West Bengal and on the banks of River Torsa. The Park is situated at an altitude of 61 m and is spread across 216.51 km2 (83.59 sq mi) of vast grassland with patches of riverine forests. It was declared a sanctuary in 1941 for protection of its great variety flora and fauna. Today, it has the largest population of the Indian One horned Rhinoceros in the Country. On the South part of the Park Chilapota Range today became a natural habitat for Rhinos. This area also a Corridor for Asian elephants between Buxa tiger Reserve, Jaldapara National Park and nearby Garumara National Park (which is also known for its population of Indian rhinoceros. Nal Rajar Garh or Mendabari Fort in Jaldapara Park bears its testimony as ancient human habitats too.

Sariska National Park is one of the most visited wildlife sanctuaries in the country. The vegetation of the park is mainly belonged to dry deciduous type with majority of the space is covered by the Dhok trees along with Arid forests. The beautiful sanctuary offers a wonderful shelter to various animals and bird species that attract everyone's attention at the park.

Lily Lake is an easy, family friendly hike in Rocky Mountain National Park that offers outstanding views of Longs Peak. It's also a great option for a winter hike when snow makes passage difficult in the higher elevations.

One of the features along the hike to The Pool in Rocky Mountain National Park is that you'll walk thru Arch Rocks, a couple of house-sized rocks that landed on the trail when a large boulder fell from the cliffs above and split apart. This popular year-round hike can also be combined with the Cub Lake Trail (http://www.rockymountainhikingtrails.com/cub-lake.htm) to make an outstanding and easy loop hike.
