Now, the page "Twitter Quitters Post Roadblock to Long-Term Growth | Nielsen Wire" (http://is.gd/IaVV) has a public highlight with a sticky note on it. I do see it when I view the page directly, but I was expecting to see my annotation, but it doesn't show up.
I am having a similar problem. I have created a WebSlides page/presentation (what is it called anyway???). The annotations show up on one of the sites but not on the other. What could be wrong?
And Graham, can I ask you a question? Does the "Annotated Link" allow others to participate in annotation if they are not Diigo users? If so, that might indeed be a better answer for me. But if not - well, it's not. I want to not only share my annotations, but collaborate with others, many of whom are not yet Diigo users.

There's the default ten seconds within which the browser may load the page + Diigolet etc.. If your browser can not load that combination of things, completely, within ten seconds, then you may not see your (yellow) highlights before Webslides proceeds to the next item in your playlist.
In any case: whilst Webslides may present to you your personal public highlights, other members of the public will see only the (green) highlights to which you have stuck a public note.

WebSlides ≠ annotations.
Bear in mind that by default, a slide show should not show private highlights.
If you wish to share annotations for a page more certainly, then use the annotated link feature.

Thanks for any input that you can give!

The first one shows the annotations just fine, but the second shows no annotations. All are marked public.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
