    (5) Auburn Tigers Vs (20) Kansas State Wildcats Live Score Update

College football is American football played by teams of student athletes fielded by American universities and military academies, or Canadian football played by teams of student athletes fielded by Canadian universities. It was through college football play that American football rules first gained popularity in the United States.

At the Division I FCS level, the teams participate in a 20-team playoff to determine the national championship. Four teams receive a bye week on the first round, with the top five teams being seeded. The highest seed receives automatic home field advantage, while non seeded teams must bid for the right to host a playoff game. Selection for the playoffs is determined by a selection committee, although usually a team must have a 7-4 record to even be considered. Losses to an FBS team count against their playoff eligibility, while wins against a Division II opponent do not count towards playoff consideration. Thus, only Division I wins (whether FBS, FCS, or FCS non scholarship) are considered for playoff selection. The Division I National Championship game is held in Frisco, Texas.
