I've created a note, and now I want to edit that note; I might also wish to change it from private to public. As far as I can tell neither operation is permitted. Am I wrong?
I just used the "bug" tag to view all posts marked "bug." The first page showed 20 results of 28; when I clicked on the "older" button, I was shown the next results for *all* forum posts, not just the ones tagged "bug."
I forwarded a copy of annotations and highlights with annotations to a colleague and to myself. I sent it from my Linux Firefox browser (Iceweasel, actually) where I made the annotations to my Mac, where I use Mac's mail app to read the mail and Firefox to browse.
(1) The Mac mail app shows some of the note icons and the highlighted text -- but nothing else. They're not links and they're not complete compilations. I can't figure out what they might be.
EDIT: I went back and looked at the source code of the email. It has the images only; no text of the annotations. This is clearly not a display-related problem, but a problem with the information sent by Diigo.
(2) When I click on the link in the mail, I get a web page with a Diigo menu across the top. I can see highlights; when I mouse over them, I get an annotation window -- one that is distorted and cramped, with what looks like the full text hiding some of the window's title. I think I see all the text I entered, but it's not comforting to look at.
I thought that was it... but now that I've reloaded the original page into my Linux Firefox browser, and I've installed the Diigo toolbar, all I see are a few of the highlighted text and their annotations. I can mouse over them and see the annotation window -- in some odd new window format. I can't drag it to arbitrary places on the window, because as I move it upwards it eventually slams into some invisible barrier. At the same time, none of the pure annotations I made on the page are visible -- not the little bubble that marks their location, or the actual annotation itself.
I re-started firefox (iceweasel) on Linux, and found that "My bookmarks" in the tool bar now says "bookmarks for" with no name. I restarted again, logged in and logged out, but the problem remains.
I show two bookmarks, which is the number I had before, but the bookmarks aren't mine. They might possibly share some keywords with my original bookmarks.
The "QuickD" button is visible, even though my options called for no such button.
I think I'll just remove the toolbar entirely; but I will wait for a short while in case someone wants me to test something.
Here's the sequence of events. I am attempting to reconstruct all the fiddling around I've done this morning. I have to drop this soon for the day, as you might imagine.
* Used Digolet to create annotations.
* Installed toolbar
That seemed to work. I could see annotations.
Forwarded the annotated page, and that didn't work.
Did some install/uninstall of other annotation software (a Greasemonkey script, Google's Notebook). Restarted.
Uninstalled the plugin to see if that would fix the problem of oddly formatted notes and invisible annotations.
Restarted.
Re-installed plugin, restarted. Experienced problem with wrong bookmarks and wrong buttons present.
(At least, I *think* that was the sequence. I am frankly not certain, and the problem may have occured a little later in this timeline.)
Attempted a foward, still could not see floating annotations.
DId a few more restarts.
Right now, the wrong info still appears in the "My bookmarks," even though the right info appeared earlier. Furthermore, the bookmarks are correct under "My Bookmarks" at the web site.
The floating annotations I made using both Digolet and the toolbar are visible on Linux Firefox/Iceweasel. The style of the annotations has suddenly changed.
The floating annotations are *not* visible on my Mac using Digolet.
Annotations attached to highlights remain visible.
I restarted the browser. Now highlighted annotations appear in a different format, the bookmarks are correct, but the floating annotations are missing.
IIRC, the last time I got into this state I logged out and possibly removed the plugin in order to see the annotations.
I have to abandon this for a while, and will not be at my desk on Weds and Thurs, but should be able to monitor this forum for a while yet today.
