hi, i hope this is the right place to post this---this is not technical but more about what diigo could be used for....

I had an idea for using diigo but when i shared with friends they were skeptical:

    wondering what other people think:

I think sticky notes attached to highlighted text (which other competing tools cannot do i believe, like trailfire) are a great way to annotate news documents like US Presidential Debate transcripts or Washington Post articles...

I'd love to read the a debate and based on my Diigo group memberhips be able to see only my favorite commentators analysis of the latest article on politics or the latest debate.
(you could even be part of a Democrat group, a Republican group, a Green group, and see different markups of the same debate)

I think this might be superior to blogging because

    a) You don't have to leave the page to see commentary on the source pages

    b) where a blogger might only share his thoughts on one or two passages of a presidential debate let's say, using Diigo might force him to comment up everything. a sort of a new genre where the blogger/commentator talks mostly about a specific document, sort of like biblical commentary...

i'd be curious if anybody has done this or think it's a bad or a good idea....
