    Abdullah Ansari hails from Herat (now in Afghanistan) and was born in the year 394 AH. His complete name is Khawaja Abdullah Bin Muhammad Ansari. He was the fellow of Alif Arslan Saljoqi, Khawaja Nizam Ul Mulk and Sheikh Abu Al Khair and was also inspired from them. He belongs to the tribe of Abu Ayub Ansari. He was well read poet, scholar, and popular for his hospitality. He was a great religious scholar and Mystic. He was very simple, social and very kind to his people. He has a strong belief on one God (Allah) which reflects from his poetry.

The historians and fellow poets have different views about his complete name. According to Persian poet Nehawandi, his complete name is Khawaja Sayed Muhammad.
